Hi,

I am running GUIMiner on a Windows 7 desktop with an ATI Radeon HD 5450. I am running it through my BTCGuild account, however it has not been generating any "shares". It has been on for the past 24+ hours and is running at around 14MHashes/s. All of my AMD drivers are up to date.

Ignoring the fact that this would most likely not be profitable for mining Bitcoins, even in a pool, any advice on what to try?

Try a different miner.

50Miner has a nice, newbie friendly UI and I can confirm that it works with 5450s pooling to BTCGuild.

I installed 50Miner and it appears to be working. At around 14 MHashes/s, how long should I expect to find a "share"?

Also, are there any settings I should know of?

Also, also, it crashes when I have it set to cgminer so I have it set to poclbm and it runs fine (i think).

My 5450x2 28 MH/s miner completes a share about every couple of minutes.

Something is wrong. Check the console window and see what it says.
I'd try CGminer instead.

I've tried CGMiner (both as the option in 50Miner and as the standalone) and neither work.

I just noticed the console printed out.
Code:
btcguild.com:8332 04/03/2013 17:50:58, Verification failed, check hardware!

During the time it's been running it hasnt generated any shares.

Verification failed, check hardware is a message coming from your miner, not the pool.  It means you're having severe problems with the hardware and it is not reporting valid shares.  Have you tried updating your drivers?

The catalyst control center says it is on Catalyst Version 3.2.

Essentially I went here:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx

and downloaded the latest driver. Im not sure why, just seems to me that the driver names are odd; sometimes I cant decide if it's a version of the control center of of a driver.

Edit: Not sure if you will see this edit, but... The miner ran for approx 6 minutes from connecting to BTC Guild until it gave the hardware error. During that time it (again) gained no shares.
