Is there a chance to find out how many bitcoin user actually there are?

According to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=147605.msg1570615#msg1570615 MtGox alone had 311850 customers a few days ago. So most probably the actual number of Bitcoin users is higher than this.
