Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

Hello Good Day. I'm new at altcoin. Can anyone educate me what altcoin is? Thanks in Advance..

First of all, you should move this topic to a better suited subforum, possibly this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0
To answer your question, an altcoin is a cryptocurrency just like bitcoin, but not bitcoin.
Most of the altcoins are built on bitcoin codebase, with some minor adaptions or enhancements.

Hello Good Day. I'm new at altcoin. Can anyone educate me what altcoin is? Thanks in Advance..

Bitcoin was the 1st crypto coin,

Alt coins is just a term used to describe all of the coins that came after it.
Alt is short for Alternative.

ZEIT is one of the ALT coins, instead of PoW (Proof of Work) , we use PoS (Proof of Stake) meaning you can hold some coins and make more yourself without buying ASICS or expending large amounts of electricity.

You can get Free ZEIT from here.
http://cryptoguru.tk/Faucet/index.php?Currency=ZEIT

Read about ZEIT Here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=487814.0

Read about other Alt Coins here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0
Some are PoW , some are PoS, some are both.

You can also go to http://coinmarketcap.com/
and view the different coins and their market caps, click on the coin name and click on Announcement/Message Board to read their individual forums.

Corr. Bitcoin was number 1 successful digital coin..but not the first one.

DigiCash was long (year 1990) before Bitcoin.

So Bitcoin is also a Altcoin Grin Grin
