I approve of this thread.

Oh Loaded, who art up in Mt. Gox, hallowed be thy name!  Thy dollars rain, thy will be done, on BTCUSD.  Give us this day our daily 10% 30%, and forgive the bears, as we have bought their bitcoins.  And lead us into quadruple digits

When does it stop? I for see a huge crash since it doesnt feel like a normal rally anymore.
It feels a bit like the speed in June 2011.

We know there is an upper limit somewhere, but we won't know where until after it has dropped.

there's a nice drop. did the person who just bought all that up do it so we wouldn't be scared of $40 when it's inevitably the bottom? Smiley

just want to remind everyone that in terms of % swings, we're fairly moderate today in terms of what bitcoin has done in the not so distant past.

That being said If we do hit 50 today, I will attempt to eat these words out of the interwebs.

Bro, do you even blockchain?

is there a day-to-day percent change graph somewhere? i was tempted to do this, but i don't have much time and don't know where to get daily average data for the last two years.

Looking in log scale is somewhat similar

yes, log scale is the percentage graph. This is last 2 months: http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg60ztgMzm1g10zm2g25zl

Todays increase was big even on that scale. Not as fast as June 2011 though: http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg60zczsg2011-05-05zeg2011-07-06ztgMzm1g10zm2g25zl

$50 today - doubtful. $50 sometime in the future - hell yes!

I just wonder how far the price of BTC is going to go Smiley

$50 within a week would be my guess. It seems that people have just stopped selling. When they start again, things are going to get interesting.

Look at the angle of this logrithmic chart during the 2011 bubble and the current rally: http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#tgSzm1g10zm2g25zvzcvzl.  The price climbed a lot faster in 2011.

Comparing to 2011 doesn't paint an accurate picture, there was a flash runup in a matter of hours...just because we haven't hit that exact same rate of price rise doesn't mean we shouldn't be circumspect
