I just got 0.0014 BTCitcoins, but I don't know who sent them and why. I had random payments before, but in very small amounts, like 0.00017 BTC.

Sure, free money is alright, but I'm curious about these payments. I did not loan any money, mine or anything, so I don't have an idea where the money come from.

Can I check the adress somehow? I am using Bitcoin wallet on phone.

Sorry, but I don't know what a txID is l. I'm new to BTCitcoin.

A fun fact is that all the addresses that were payed in the blockchain begin with '1'. Mine too.

I didn't know that too. I thought that they were all starting with "1". A txID is the ID of the transaction. Maybe if you try to press some time on the transaction, you should be able to see it.

Guys... his address is in his profile. A simple check shows that the last transaction came from seconds trade, his signature campaign.
No mistery.
If you believe it's a mistake, you should see with the person in charge with the payments for seconds trade signature campaign.

I guess that if a signature campaign accepts newbies, it is automatic, for sure. They generally don't bother to run a spreadsheet since they have so many candidates.

Misconception #1:
Yes, you can check. That's surely someone you typped a bad address. What's the txID ?
No, it is almost impossible to "type a bad address" because every Bitcoin address has a built is checksum that prevents that.  If you take a valid Bitcoin address and change one letter the address in no longer a valid address and will not be accepted by the wallet or the network.

Misconception #2:
Its nicw to receive like that because you are a newbie to bitcoin its lucky but i think in your bitcoin address is the problem.i think your bitcoin address is used of others after you get it and delete of the user that wallet. Absolutely not.  Once a Bitcoin address is used and deleted it will never be used again, ever.

And just in case you are thinking it:  No, two people will never get the same Bitcoin addresses "by mistake".  So your funds will never get mixed with someone else's coins.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

I think those payments are from faucetbox account as you may not keep checking frequently and just claim on faucetbox faucets and keep moving. But if you getting this frequently means you may be earning from referal commision in some faucets regurarly which you may have forgetten or your address is quite common to other address (which is unlike to happen) LOL.

Yeah, I had that happen on my very first BTC payment. (I was buying some kind of bitcoin collectible from a forum member here, IIRC.) The seller sent me the payment address, but I couldn't get the payment to go thru. I thought it was my newbie error, and I almost gave up on the whole bitcoin thing. (After all, it was my first time using bitcoin, and it wasn't working.) Finally, the seller realized that the final character of his address hadn't cut-n-pasted with the rest. It was nice to learn about the checksum. I sleep a little better now. Smiley

Chris

I just got 0.0014 BTCitcoins, but I don't know who sent them and why. I had random payments before, but in very small amounts, like 0.00017 BTC.

Sure, free money is alright, but I'm curious about these payments. I did not loan any money, mine or anything, so I don't have an idea where the money come from.

Can I check the adress somehow? I am using Bitcoin wallet on phone.

Well, I never experienced such kindness Tongue . Anyways you can trace that address and I am quite sure you can get a hint from where you got those btc. The alternate way is to ask all the people you know if they sent you any money Smiley
