Hello all,
I'm running an s7 with 2 HP DPS-1200FB PSU's with one of them having 2 pci-e 6pin Y splitter to supply 2 hashing boards. The problem I'm having is cables at the Y splitter connection is really hot to the point I can't touch for more than 5 secs. I recently moved my miner to a cooler location, but this is the first time I'm noticing this problem. I've been running my miner for 3 months without any problems and it's working fine, but I'm still concerned. The cables are rated 16AWG.
Thanks,
Yes if they are "PSU cables Y splitters are burning hot"
UNPLUG THEM. When playing with electricity there bad things that can happen if wires heat up, leading up to and including fire.
Do you have more info on your Y-splitter? Some are horrible and not up to mining and it sounds like yours likely fits in with these.
