There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I wish we had a pirate party here in the US that I can donate to.

1. Pirate party is formed in the US to and they accept bitcoin donations.
2. Get elected president then control the senate/house
3. Profit.

My personal suggestion (as italian) is to NOT give any money to any italian party Wink
It's better to give them to italian merchants or at least to internationals, you will achieve more on long run.

Yes, I agree.
You really don't want to give money to the italian pirate party.
Its insignificant and ridicolus. During the last Italian elections, like 10 days ago, they got something like 5k votes. Also, they don't really have any usefull idea.
My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
