We are happy to announce the long-awaited release of the Antminer S9. It’s the world’s first commercially available bitcoin miner based on a 16nm process chip and, delivering 0.1J/GHs*, it is currently the most efficient bitcoin miner in existence.

The Antminer S9 has a hashrate of 14 Th/s and a nominal power consumption of 1375 watts*.

We are accepting orders for the first batch of Antminer S9 now on www.bitmaintech.com. The shipping of this first batch will start from 12 June 2016.

We look forward to continue serving the bitcoin community worldwide and to continue making the most advanced and reliable mining hardware.

* Results may have a 7% variance

Regards,

Awesome news. So, only Bitmain & Bifury now have 16nm miner. Great to see how far ASIC industry has come.

Wrong BW has them   so 3 companies have them.

Once again only bitmaintech is selling gear direct to home miners.

Oops. Sorry. I dint know. I wonder, if these companies have direct access to FabLab or have their own FabLab.

i see they lined the heatsinks up better.. this might make it quieter and not howl like the s7.

but buying this pre-order is very risky..

not shipping till june 12th... only 1 month before the halving..

currently it will make 540$ for the first month and 220$ after.. at 2100$ thats 7 months roi with no power factored in.

since these things are pretty powerful, 14th.. its certain the diff will increase each adjustment.. possibly 10%+

plus we all know that batch 2 or 3 will be 1/3 of the price Wink

With the halving coming. This is a tuff one to swallow.
Sure it produces 3.5x the TH as the S&, at nearly the same consumption, but it's also 4.25x the initial cost. and that's assuming the S7 doesnt go on a fire sale, plus the cost of used ones is dropping.

I'm tempted.
But I need to know the noise level, I'd buy one as a basement dehumidifier, maybe.
