Why you not split the prize to lets say 3 winners? One winner only will not attract many people to try to compete for the leaderboard because the chance is too small imho. More winners will be more interesting competition. Just my opinion.
One more thing, would you mind to put the prize on an escrow? Not saying that you wont pay the winner, but sorry to say that you are newbie here.

I really hope you dont mind me saying that it is very unfair to call a wager contest and not starting it from zero

you are actually  giving BlackSheep and player6 a very unfair advantage to win the prizes.

just trying to be helpful and looking for a fair deal as I wanted to participate when you offered the 1 BTC in first place and please dont take it as an attack as many like to do it with my comments

Is it fair to all players who want to participate on the leaderboard contest? I think NO, its better if you reset the leaderboard then restart the contest. Players should have equal time in the contest imho, unless you only want to give an exception for some players because they have played on your site before the contest. Indeed, other players still have great chance to overtake him but it will be more fair if all players start with 0.

I agree, because otherwise what's the point to register on the site for new players? They have very small chances to win the prize. Theoretically you can register and wager over 27 BTC right away but from my experience it's very hard to do in practice.

It is up to you, but it is better if the prize is based on the rank. Just make it as a normal competition, anyway what raffle you are talking about? As I know you are going to run a wagering competition instead of a raffle, do I misunderstand something here?

OP has already said that he will restart the competition for fairness to all players, means that past wager will not included to the competition. So it is not a problem anymore when all players start with zero wagered amount.
