I think the ETH mining speed will be more like 25MH/s instead of 30MH/s because the memory bandwidth is only 256GB/s.
However maybe Polaris has better architecture and might enable speeds over 40MH/s. Nobody knows until its released.

It only has 2304 stream processors, a nano has 4096, how does this make it the same performance?

To me it looks more like a die-shrunk 285/380, so I guess a speed closer to 20MH/s is also possible. The 1070 however does about 27MH/s at the same bus type and speed, at 125W.

That's just Ethereum though.
i know what you are referring with this post, seems that no one noticed but anyway the 1070 can do 27 and probably 32MH at 125w if tlb of 8mb is supported I think the ETH mining speed will be more like 25MH/s instead of 30MH/s because the memory bandwidth is only 256GB/s.

256/8=32, it should be 32, but not at 80w like the nano, which is doing only 20 btw

That's just Ethereum though.
14nm FinFET technology should make them competitive on other algos.

actually waiting right now for this, will only result in losing money, so better to buy something else and mine then you simply sell and buy those new gpu
don't buy ancient gpu now, they will be very hard to sell later

Nice move for AMD, I'm honestly interested in buy a couple to see if they will be competitive with the watt/mhash ratio. Btw, my principal thought is about what to mine if eth will become unprofitable or just switch to pow.

Going to kill perhaps. Those are not on the shelves yet and availability might be a factor. I've seen Nv 750 launched at 180 EUR at some e-shops around here. For pure compute I don't think they make GCN1.2 obsolete, main problem Tonga has always been overpriced, especially in its 2GiB variant (bleh)! To me it looks more like a die-shrunk 285/380 Nope. Node shrink + new architecture iteration. It is known they have new instructions. The 1070 however does about 27MH/s at the same bus type and speed, at 125W A 70% price increase for 16% lower consumption? They will have do take down the upfront cost considerably. How expensive are 1070s for you?

I hope that the price delta between 4/8gb versions won't be too large (like 199/229 USD). 8 gb of ram nowadays are useful for many algos, not just ethereum.
