I assume your wondering what happens when someone gets divorced if the assets are hidden in btc? Technically, you must disclose your assets and as such, should let the other party know about them. If the married couple talked finances at all (like myself and my wife) the other party would know anyone that they have assets in bitcoin, which would make lying about them hard. If you haven't told your significant other about your assets, it is still risky to try and lie and if they looked through bank records and noticed amounts coming out for various reasons every month, it wouldn't be too hard to track down what you were buying.
Basically, just disclose all your assets to avoid further troubles.

Owning up is gonna save a world of pain. I guess it also depends on how you obtained your coins. Cards and bank transfers are easily uncovered. If I mined, multiplied them with trading or bought with cash then I might choose to forget to write that stuff down.

If you are planning to hide your bitcoins from your spouse, think what happens if you meet with an accident? There should be no secrets between spouses (Ideally).

Shared wallet ? Also that's one of the advantages of bitcoins ,you can always hide your assets digitally which reduces the risk of paying High Child Support after divorced.Unless you have explicitly told your wife you have a amount of bitcoins, there is no way she can raise a doubt.Even if she knows ,there is no way she can prove it unless you sign a message .

If a person is halfway intelligent and researches the technology and how the network works adequately, any Bitcoins they have should be unidentifiable in an assets search, unless they disclose it to another party.

This is often quoted as one of bitcoin's reason d'etre, to "keep off greedy exes".

I believe that it is necessary to know if your husband or wife has a bitcoin in it's bitcoin wallet because it is a part of your conjugal property.

If you would declared it as your assets on your papers while you are married. Then it will be part of the money or properties that you both owned. And when you split up then it will be divided. Or you could not tell her about the bitcoin thing.

We both know all passwords and the location of our bitcoins. Treat it as any other property. You wouldn't want to kick the bucket and lose those bitcoin.

if it is difficult to identify bitcoin as a property. no problem you can easily exchange it in fiat currency. i think through this your problem can be solved very easily.

Please! If you want to claim half of your husband's money, let his online support be at peace! Enough with this divorce crap. An honourable lady will live on her own and not take away what belongs to her previous husband. Bitcoin is reliable and I am proud it is a secure source of money holder for those at risk of divorce. PERIOD.

Think again not to hide what you have, learn to open up to your partner . That if you plan to hide your bitcoin, so there is no problem in the future.

You could very well hide this; unless the account is linked to your name, you are anonymous, which is one of the main sticking points of btc. With that being said, unless this was an asset you brought to the relationship, for moral and legal reasons I would disclose this to your partner, at least during the divorce proceedings. Failure to do so might cost you more in the long run.

It all depends on the type of person you are married to. If you're married to the greedy/domineering type, better play smart and keep your mouth shut. It will save you a lot of headaches, write your account info in your will just in case something happens to you.

It is just like the money in our pocket, so it will be treated the same as we treat the money in our pocket while any person will marry or divorce, I think mostly that amount of money remains with the person who have them in his/her pocket.

I dont understand why like example if woman cheat husband and if they go to divorce woman get half house if she didnt invest nothing in house, she was stupid bitch, she marry just for money or just she was marry to take half house and earn some money.I think after divorce that person which was bought house must get house and if they bought together then they must slit to 2 parts house. It is also stupid if some bitch marry famous person and they created child and she cheated him and they divorce and if children go to mum but she was bitch and then that famous person must pay 100x more money than other husbands but that money is for children not for parent so she was marry only for purpose.Divorce rules are so stupid created and they are not provably fair.
