there are 300-400 trillion USD is existence (at the minimum)
~15 million LTC currently.
One is infinite the other is not.
quite simple logic would dictate finite crypto>fiat

Agree with your logic, but the number of finite things need a use or no-one wants them... Ixcoin value?? current gold fall in price??
I think what we have seen with the recent rise in BTC value is down to a number of things, greater adoption, ASIC's, funding, being some obvious ones, but I think it important not to forget that crypto-currency economics is very different to fiat economics and the still recent block reward halving, a key to the deflationary model has only just taken place for the first time ever.
Its gonna take a while then for the market to realise what the best plays and moves are, and for the currency to find its new true stable value. However of late I think that there has been a different kind of speculation that has then taken off with litecoin. But it should be noted that there have been many price rises and falls on LTC, but it would seem (correct me if i'm wrong) that LTC $ value over time has risen on a general upward trend matching that of btc $... there's a whole load of patterns that can be seen where BTC $ price spike the BTC->LTC price drops as people cash out for BTC to sell for $... but there seems to be a demand in those moments by people who see the opportunity to get cheap LTC for their BTC so keep the price up above a certain threshold. (I think related to the mining potential spread on the network)
But what is the true value of BTC? is BTC a more valuable asset than silver.. and just wait till its worth more than gold... for BTC to do this, I think the case of crypto currencies and the economics behind them will be an undeniable success. So long as the development continues in a positive fashion i'm failing to see a reason why the LTC value would not continue to rise as well as its further adoption is taken as well and BTC has a sister currency to prove that all fiats will fall flat on their face.
bah sorry messy ramble of words... working too many hours
