Today marks the second birthday of Bitcoin Wallet. Wow, a lot has happened since then!
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Hah, yes, I forgot the first version didn't even have any peer discovery code. Happy birthday! Smiley

I'm looking forward to the next release. It will finally realize the dream of a purely P2P wallet app that runs on smartphones, yet with equal performance to apps that rely on central servers. 2 years is maybe a bit excessive for such a thing, but at least we got a nice Java API along the way too.
