Hi Everyone,

:: About Me ::
I will firstly talk about me and then you may get the drift of my project.

I am Kevin, a Senior Security Consultant from the UK, Over 12 Years experience working for managed security service providers handling Firewalls, Switches, Routers, Web Application Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Linux Devices, VPN Concentrators, Load Balancers, SSL Devices and WAN Accelerators.

I have experience and high level contacts with almost every vendor. Checkpoint, Juniper, Palo Alto, Pulse Secure, Crossbeam, Sourcefire, Fortinet and Cisco.

:: My Project ::

I am looking to create a range of devices starting with SOHO (Small/Home Office), Medium and Enterprise sized businesses.

The ViperWall will initially be a Firewall with an addon architecture, depending on what model of ViperWall you bought you can activate certain addons for a fee.

The ViperWall at its core is a bespoke Secured Linux Operating System with our own Firewall built on top.

Small - 4GB RAM, Intel Atom, 4 x 1gbps Network Ports. CABLE or VDSL/ADSL Modem Slot, Console Port, Power
Medium - 16GB Ram, Intel Xeon, 12 x 1gbps Network Ports, CABLE or VDSL/ADSL Modem Slot, Controller Card Slot (Own IP for Dual Power Supply), Console Port, Power
Large - 32GB Ram, Intel Xeon, 24 x 1gbps Network Ports, CABLE or VDSL/ADSL Modem Slot, Controller Card Slot (Own IP for Dual Power Supply), Console Port, Power - Duel Blade Support for Network Ports
XLarge - 64GB Ram, Intel Xeon, 48 x 1gbps Network Ports, CABLE or VDSL/ADSL Modem Slot, Controller Card Slots (Own IP for Dual Power Supply), Console Port, Power - Quad Blade Support for Network Ports

The ViperWalls will be based on a chassis, with a controller card which will manage the services the ViperWall Provides.

:: Services ::

Firewall
Network Address Translation
IPS/IDS
Identity Awareness
Web Application Filtering
URL Filtering
SSL VPN
Site to Site VPN
Zone or Policy Based Firewall Setup

:: Management ::

ViperWalls will be managed by their own manager, you can install this on your own virtualised hardware, this is not an appliance. You install our ISO image and create trust with your firewall, then that is the only management station able to push policies to the firewall.

Multi Managment Gateways, More than one firewall to management we will have different software for you to install. in the same scenario as above. This costs a little more and you need more resources.

:: Logging ::

You can log to your own server with out own Log ISO which costs or you can buy a pre-built appliance made to handle the traffic for the ViperWall you have bought. Syslog will also be available

:: Technical ::

The ViperWall will have a fully functional Linux Command Line managed default via SSH. You can change this (not advised).

This comes will bespoke troubleshooting tools and basic tools like netstat, traceroute, ping, tcpdump etc

:: Interested? ::

Contact me, I need someone to help me get this off the ground, the security industry is a multi-billion pound industry and its only getting worse. People are more scared than ever and willing to spend more money on security now than ever before, now is the right time to create something like this.

Kev

I know this type of equipment. The management strategy sounds great, similar to checkpoint but more "beefy". Its all the best parts of firewalls put into one Smiley
I have a few BTC I can invest if that helps? I would love to be part of this with you.
