One of the key principles behind cryptocurrencies is the notion that their value is controlled not by a central institution, but by the people using it, which I think has a major affect on people becoming more interested, amidst Brexit and global trade tensions. Not so surprising?

So, no study to back this up and no details of how the study was conducted or what the sample size was. Based on my limited study of people in the UK I would disagree. My methodology consists of me talking to my friends about crypto and if they are skeptical I count them as a non-believer. Currently I've studied at least 50 people of not so varied backgrounds and I can categorically conclude that your study is incorrect.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic with your methodology, but the post above yours cited the survey.

But yeah I have no clue why anyone would say that the UK is a country of crypto believers when only around 30% actually believe it has a future. There's also this:

Quote
However, YouGov’s research shows people in the U.K. are seven times more likely to say they feel "very negative" about the notion of a type of currency controlled by the people using it than "very positive" (20% vs 3%), and twice as likely to feel "fairly negative" (20%) than "fairly positive" (9%).

Haha, very sarcastic  Cheesy Well, what I said was the truth but it was meant sarcastically. Thanks for the actual link, it seems a lot of the questions weren't specific about cryptocurrency and more around a currency that is away from the control of the government. I also couldn't find much on sample size. Even taking their findings as truth when generalised it still doesn't suggest that the UK people are crypto believers with most of their questions still under 50% answering positively towards crypto.

We cannot believe on this type of survey as this can be manipulated, this news is just as other FUD created, this will not bring any good to the market situation. Their should be some full proof theory behind any good story if not it will look like fake.

Bitcoin had become a part of the economy and culture, in a way comparable to the rapid rise of the internet in the early 1990s. Said in the article on Forbes, And right now there are many individuals that are now understanding and interested with bitcoin and public awareness on it had simply made the price to skyrocket, And right now bitcoin is slowly making its way to a different level of society that even the well-known actors, singer, rapper, both inside and outside Hollywood had become intrigued with this kind of technology and has now been making it in the film industry so there's no wonder there will be more believers in the near future.

Since there is no study or a survey to back this up it will be meaningless for us to think of U K being the highest in cryptocurrency adaptor and if you can back this claims up with a link for verification then you may have a point but until then we will take this as just your own personal assumption.

The forbes article is pretty interesting, but it shows that 20% in the UK think that cryptocurrencies will become as common as cash and cards. While it is not nothing, 'a nation of crypto believers' sounds too loud if we look at the poll data. If the poll really allows us to extrapolate data not only on young and educated middle class UK citizens, but on the whole nation (and we shall hope that it can, since it's not just a random sociological poll conducted by noname company), with England's population being 55 million, about 11 million people should be crypto believers there. Compared with the amount of blockchain wallets, this could be a huge support of the community in the future.

Maybe some truth in it but it’s hard to trust contributing authors (he doesn’t work for Forbes) that are members of this forum and hold a personal stash of bitcoin. I would tell you who Billy Bambrough is here but doxing is kind of rude.

My bad, but sometimes I forget that you have to triple-double-quadruple every piece of news out here.
Checking his articles he seems to print them like a well-oiled machine, one bullish article per day.

The worse part is that he seems to shill a bit to much for xrp... Sad

Indeed, btc is a tool to hedge risks or taking your chance. People are looking toward btc in weak countries, as they want to leave poverty behind.

i think this is happening everywhere else in the world too and this is mainly because of the last year's price rise which was basically a 20x rise in one year which is extraordinary for anything! and obviously that attracts a lot of attention from people. now add to that the fact that the media has been constantly talking about bitcoin last year and most of this year due to the big rise and then fall, and you can see how the "interest" grows among citizens.

There is a FOMO brewing...
