Want to start online store to sell rare meteorites?

I've been looking at a thread about a guy who was looking to start his own bitcoin store and was looking for ideas on stuff to sell, one thing I could think of was meteorites, I don't think you can buy meteorites for bitcoin yet unless someone is already doing that, is someone already doing that?

Haha ,that's a really interesting question,and for sure there aren't a lot of people doing that.My call is that you should at least try and see if there is a market for that.If there are people willing to buy,why not?It all comes to that after all.

I've seen people selling weirder stuff for bitcoin . Personally, i wouldn't be interested, but if you can add a certificate of authenticity, and have reasonably good prices, i don't see why you wouldn't be able to sell them.

You can always try to open a sales thread on this forum, and open an openbazaar store... They're both free, so it might be a good starting point before investing anything in a domain/hosting/setup fees..
Do accept escrow on both stores, otherwise you won't have any customers

Yeah you can buy small fragments cheap enough, I was thinking of buying fragments in bulk and starting a bitcoin store to sell them

Weird idea but i think i like it i didn't even know that there is a market for that kind of stuff,so why not?owning a fragment of a meteorite sounds very cool.

I like the idea, space is a mystery and to own something that wasn't made on earth is quite special. You would certainly need certification as someone mentioned earlier and the more professional experience you have in the field, the better. It would be nice to maybe sort them by the continent they landed on (backed up by evidence!)

What? That's so funny. in my mind where you get meteorites, I never saw someone is selling meteorites. but, does it is a real meteorite? You can analyze on another online store with standard payment. How the level of demand in an online store.

well meteorites for bitcoin is really unique things and i am sure that nobody else had this idea to sell meteorites, that's even crazy so you will find buyers for sure, i would buy too

Honestly, this will be extremely difficult for the few following reasons, however i admire your optimism and wish you the best if you go through with this
Meteor sales are quite low, and the correlation between people using bitcoins and buying is basically none, people buy them in real life to see authenticity, certificats and to avoid scams, the reasons go on, i dont think this would work, i'm sorry

It is not gonna work, and here is why:

1. People will keep asking how are you able to provide legit meteorites?
2. There is not standard price table when you can check out how much meteorite rock would cost - this would lead to exploits.
3. You could be selling normal earth rocks and most of people wouldn't know.
4. Is there even a service which can certify the rocks you are selling? I doubt that NASA or ESA is able to do it.

Everyone don't feel this to be valuable, at the same there are users who were more interested into those meteorites. For this one can start a store with bitcoin acceptance.

I would advice to address companies and sell those meteorites as an art item, because the business to consumer market is not wealthy enough for these kind of purchase.s

Selling meteorites for bitcoins is a new idea and i have never heard of it before. I think such new ideas will bring more interest among the people to come to bitcoins and start using them.

I think its a pretty good idea to sell such things but the other side is that not a lot of people are known for this.
It will most likely not attract a lot of people.
