Hi my name is Jake and I just got started. I'm 14 and I think this would be good way to purchase things online without my parents and crap. I just need some help getting bitcoins and would really appreciate if you could give me some information on how to receive bitcoin. Thats pretty much it. I use blockchain wallet if that helps with any info.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Thanks to this you will be able to prove that this account is really yours in case something goes wrong, like a hack etc. Next do some reading of this forum, ask some questions but not to much! Try to make Nice, informative posts, you can find many threads about reviewing faucets etc. So not much knowledge about BTC is necessary at the start. Build your account and soon you will be able to join signature campaign, those will pay you in bitcoins or other altcoins. You could join even now! first thing you should know is bitcoin are a digital money and you can't earn money by doing nothing. you have to work for it.
anyone can send you bitcoins as long as they have your bitcoin address (that's what you just posted as "ID".)

Come to think,
With the KYC/AML reqs for so many exchanges, how would it actually be possible for the OP to obtain spendable bitcoins (for shopping/not faucets).
Is their any exchanges that would allow buying (with credit card/bank transfer) < something like 7.61 bitcoins per/month, without verification?

I don't think any exchange likes younglings. You do have btc-e but you'd still have to go through other payment processors who'd probably reject you too.

I'm sure he could find someone on localbitcoins.com willing to sell him some bitcoins. Another option would be for him to provide some sort of product or service and accept bitcoin as payment. |

Nothing is a game at 14. For some of us, that's when we started shaping our career. If young children don't actually have the ability to purchase bitcoins until their like 18 - 21, do you think they'll bother to check it out then? I personally think the community is losing out on a lot of younger users (to increase bitcoins adoption) because of how difficult it is to obtain them. |

A few months ago I was also totally new to bitcoin, and there was no any idea to me that how to earn bitcoin even i do not have idea that how people are earning some amount of bitcoin in signature campaigns and I even did not have any bitcoin wallet, but I started to search on this forum and with that I continued to search on google about bitcoin and about bitcointalk.org and within a month or less I learned all about bitcoin and now I am earning a good amount of bitcoin from here in this forum and from a number of tasks online available.

Bitcoin has value and things with value are not simply "received". Begging is not good way to go. You should buy bitcoins for 1$ and try urself how it works. Best learning experience. Someone will probably send you some, but thats dirty way  |

I think the part that is out of touch is wanting to purchase it without parents.... it makes me wonder what is he wanting to buy? I guess it could be digital goods that only he knows. But for physical goods his parents would find out I would think. I would urge him to ask his parents for help, maybe start a account at a bank to tie to a real exchange. I had to be around that age when my parents let me play with small amounts of money on stocks with their support. I would think if he shows a passion and shares with parents a good amount would support him. I could see some parents scared of "bitcoin" but... it's hard to say. Either way you life will be much easier OP if you get parents support. What is your goal? Is it just to "purchase things online without my parents and crap." or are you wanting to learn or possibly hold it? |

Congrats on finding bitcoin at a young age. You knowing that and being here, you beat already 90% of the people lol. So pat yourself and give credit on doing homework on the internet. As for the parents issue, just bare with them? Theres people on this forum selling multiple things in the marketplace - so pick and read things that matter. I know people been recommending doing signatures, which is fine. But, dont heavily rely on it, esp when you dont know when it`ll quit or not. |

I would not suggest it for him. Even as a teenager earning cent's per hour is not a good proposition. He could be learning skills or a ton of other things much better long term. Faucets are just a waste of time. But I still think he should get parents involved and goal not be "purchase things online without my parents and crap". As if he get's his parents support hopefully they will support him in it. I think a lot of parents would support someone this age looking at something financial that is a possible investment. I think it's a great thing to learn technology at early age. |

It seems to be right time to learn about bitcoin. Initially try with faucets and captcha solving which gives very small earning. Alternative know about the factors involved in signature campaign and slowly move towards it. |

I recommend you play faucet to earn bitcoin, because I think faucet is the easiest thing to do and not at risk. you can try FAUCETBOX or maybe you can find more site here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=212.0 thank you |
