Hey, I just recently acquired a X6500, in hoping to break even before the wave of ASICs come in. However, when I plug the FPGA up to my computer, I'm getting around 38mhash/s. What's going on???

What OS, and what mining software?

USB hub, or connected directly to a motherboard USB port?

How are you powering the x6500?

Have you tried a different USB port?

Have you tried rebooting?

Does the hashrate vary, or is it consistent?

Is the hashrate equal between the two FPGAs, or unequal?

What pool?

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64, directly connected to motherboard usb port. The FPGA is using the circle power supply thing (12v). After reboot, I managed to get it up to around 50mhash/s, and it's consistent at that. Both of them are equal. I'm using the Modular Python Mining software on BTCGuild.

You're running the default bitstream (firmware) if you're running at 50Mh/s.

You can select faster bitstreams at:
In the MPBM web interface: Workers > (select the board)
Then change the firmware file to /ztexmerge_200mhz.bit (or one of the slower fixed-speed bitstreams) or x6500-overclocker-0402.bit (variable clock speeds).

More at this site: http://www.fpgamining.com/documentation/software/mpbm-windows

I see the value of Bitcoin, so I don't worry about the price...

tml is also available for x6500 (should give you higher mh/s than mpbm):
