Hi,

I'm in bitcoin for a few months now. Up to know, never had any issues.
However, as of about 24hrs ago, none of my transactions seem to go through?
they all remain unconfirmed.

I've done transactions during the last few weeks, without any issue, using the lowest fair fee.
They always got confirmed (6 confirmations) within about 6 to 10 hours, where the first confirmation came in within the hour.

Since yesterday 07-jun-2016, 22:00 hrs (CET), none of my transactions got confirmed, even the last one, where I added the maximum recommended transaction fee, not any confirmation 2 hours later

Is there an issue or a change globally? Is it me, or just bad luck for me? Or .... ?
And how can I fix it? Because at the moment, it looks like I can't make any transactions anymore

I'm using Bitcoin Core version v0.12.1 (64-bit)

example of the latest tx id : https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/5f5e6a542c04fa299fca80159d25e93fe8d3fb5dc33c0728363f1b8a65ec3b94/ for 0.02 BTC (with the highest recommended tx fee)
example of the first tx id (still not confirmed today) : https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/0f5b2172714c91c4c65ad609a9d7c567bb3f74622c00bb859181dd2a56cc7672/ for 0.0051 BTC (I admit, with a very low tx fee)

Thanks for any feedback

that's because you're sending unconfirmed bitcoins (unconfirmed inputs). a transaction can't get a confirmation unless the input have been confirmed.

Hi, thanks for the quick feedback

hmm, ok, can you clarify a bit further? because all incoming transactions (bitcoins) into my wallet were confirmed, or do I understand you wrong?
did I do something wrong, or did this just happen beyond my control?

adding to that :
- I've read elsewhere that if a transaction remains unconfirmed, after a while these btc will come back into my wallet (like the transaction never happened), would this be the case also, or will they go through eventually?
- is there anything I can do to speed this up?
- is there anything I can do to avoid this in the future?

you understood me right. but bitcoins you sent is still not confirmed. see here for the first transaction and here for the second.
though I'm not sure how reliable live.blockcypher.com is (the received/sent stats shows 0 even though it clearly have received and sent some.).

and:
- maybe they will go through eventually. if they don't then yes, they will come back to your wallet after some time but first you need to get rid of those transactions because bitcoin-qt automatically re-broadcasts your transactions to the network. to delete the transactions, follow the steps posted by shorena above.
- I don't think so unless you can get a miner to include your transactions in a block.
- always pay recommended transaction fee. also make sure whoever you're trading with do the same (this will also keep you safe from double-spend scams.).

For future reference if any one using core wallet and have any issue or problem understanding something, just check your logs
Because any thing happens it gets logged, so you can check every single event from the moment you started your wallet.
Hope this can help.

Hi,

I "zapped" my bitcoinwallet as suggested, which "returned" all the sent unconfirmed btc into my wallet.
Today, I did 2 transactions again, and they are getting confirmed (already 4 of 6 confirmations)

Thanks for the help.

P.S. would online wallets be better/faster for those small transactions I'm doing? Or does that make no difference for speed etc?
I know its less safe than an offline wallet, and then there is the issue that in some online wallets, you don't "own" your btc I've read

There is no difference. The factors affecting the transaction is the fees and/or the priority. Generally, the coin age, transaction size, transaction fees and the outputs size are the factors. The fees can be set higher or lower in your client to give it a higher chance of confirming within a period of time. An online wallet usually pays the amount that gives it a high chance of getting included in the next block and the fees are deducted from your account balance. It would be a whole different story if you want to use offchain transaction.

Online wallets are generally riskier than desktop wallets.
