Hi,

So I did set up a new faucet and placed in the faucetbox.com list, my Satoshis seem to drain very fast and the number of payments are huge too also a huge percent of the number of payout is referral, So I just wanted to ask If my faucet became an instant hit (Unlikely) Or am I being robbed ??

Thanks in advanced

I Think you are under a bot attack. Do you have capatchas in your faucet? Try to adjust the claiming time, They might abused it when the timer is so fast and if the claiming fee is so high

I'm not really an expert in this matter, but can't you look at your server's stats? If most visitors are from one specific country, or visit using a proxy, tor, vpn,... You might be under attack. Also the claim timing might give you a clue. If the same address claims at exactly the right time, it might also be an indication.
Maybe you can share your URL, so we can have a look at your faucet?

Hello,

You can check your database folder, you can see all login ips, username and refferals. If you see multiple logins you can ban any ip you want.

Ask directly in the faucetbox discussion topic here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1094930.0
Kazuldur or another user will answer you but I remember seeing something similar inside this topic long time ago, just check it.

Wow welcome to the world faucet friends, do not be surprised if your faucet attacked by thousands of referrals coming from one place. I recommend using a script reader ip or the like, which allows a single ip / pc only claim one. Thank you

My faucet is a 5 minute timer faucet..
But after launch, people were suggesting me to do this and to do that.

So just to do experiment I changed the timer to 1 hour.
The moment I changed I got heavy bot attack and almost all my coins are gone. But before that I changed it back to 5 minute.

I was just refreshing my faucet and I saw my coins are reducing every minute without any interval.
But at that moment my google analytics was showing that I don't had much users.

My main intention was for setting 5 minute is to prevent TOR user.
Scammers are very smart and also they are very lazy, they will not use TOR to bypass 5 minute.
Because they need at least 2 minutes to set up and claim reward by using TOR. So they will not do so much things to bypass only 3 minutes.

But after fixing the timer at 5 minutes, I never seen any unusual things so far....

But there is also something to mention, I'm following one wallet address for last one week.
Maybe he is a scammer or he is a marketer who is sending me fake traffic...
Due to the source sometimes my bounce rate raises too high, and the other thing is language metrics.
If I get enough proofs about that address, I will ban all the refs he has along with him.

If you want to fight against bot / scammer than you have to be more active and keep your two eyes in all the resources you have.
And more over do set security features as much as possible.

Frankly if you don't know how to find that out or how to research to find out whether your faucet is under bot attack or not, you might be better off not running a faucet at all. That sounds harsh but it stresses that you should be able to do your research.

Check your sites logs/analytics and see if you can spot lots of claims from the same or similar IP's or from proxies.

that's indeed a bot attack, the bot maker using captcha solving service and combine it with VPN,banning any suspicious IP would be a good idea since  VPN's IP is limited, maybe you only limit account to make claim/hour instead of limiting IP

How about using a hard captcha, i'm forget which one is that, it's like rotate left and right until the image is right or you can ask on micro earnings section.

Were are your traffic coming from? Some of these guys are clever and they use proxies to hide their location. Here are a old thread, where they show you how these bots work and how easy it is :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=688572.0  -- http://freezonez.com/FreeZoneZ-169/bot-xtreme-bitcoin-faucet-bot/ -- Which Captha system are you using? This is getting too easy for these

guys... http://scraping.pro/8-best-captcha-solving-services-and-tools/ - I do not know, how legit some of these tools are.  Roll Eyes
