I believe that we need a new sub-forum that splits from Politics and Society, called "Religion and Spirituality". There are several posts in that subforum already that pertain to religion, and the arguments are more religious than they are political. Currently, these posts are dominating the sub-forum.

It's more a part of the "Society" part of P&S, but religion is definitely both.  But I agree, it probably should have it's own section.  I don't frequent that part of bct anymore, as it always seemed almost like a conspiracy theory website.   And when people start talking politics (and religion) they generally become Jello-brained.

The establishment defined the phrase "Conspiracy theory" to try and discredit important historical lessons without having any proper or logical refutations. It does not matter how much evidence is presented, all you have to do is say "But I don't believe in conspiracy theories" to "debunk" a claim

If it was up to me, P&S would be a sub-forum of Off-Topic anyway, most of the content there is utterly plain bullshit to start with.
That being said, let us keep working on the bitcoin focused parts of this site called bitcointalk, instead of wasting time with what The Pharmacist perfectly described with "almost like a conspiracy theory website".

That wouldn:t be necessary. The Politics and Society subforum here doesn't have much activity to even separate the Religion and Spirituality topics. All can be discussed in there without the whole board being flooded. It's enough that we have a board to post such topic.

I think the more diverse the forum, the better. It is how you attract a large audience, I think that's what the administrator wants. What the administrator does not want is spam.

I think a forum dedicated to bitcoin discussion (or talk) doesn't really need to be "diverse", at least not in this aspect.
There's a reason P&S is sorted under "Other", it's not the focus of this board.
Besides that, creating "ghost"-subforums with very little activity and just a hand full of threads creates (pointless) ramification, not diversity.

It is how you attract a large audience, I think that's what the administrator wants.
Maybe not the kind of audience you would want to get?
Also, last time I checked, there was no problem in terms of popularity.

What the administrator does not want is spam.
I'd have no problem calling 90% of the section this thread is about exactly that.

That makes sense. Still, making a subsection would refocus the politics section to politics.

Not many changes to the forum will be made at the moment. Whats the point in doing this when epochtalk is on the verge of becoming the real bitcointalk?

Most posts are the same especially about religion. Everyday the same posts that we wil read probably the same person is arguing about it.

That is very true. I attribute that to poor regulation (if you're in charge of that and reading this, sorry! I know it is probably difficult with whatever limited tools you have and the fact that there are so many people!). Usually, if posts are repeated in a forum, a forum moderator locks repeated threads, and upon doing so, links the original poster to the original or at least informs them that the topic has already been posted about.

There is no moderator designated to that section of the forum (again a sign for how important, or rather not, that section is to Staff).

Moderators work based on reports, you can report each and every post if you think it's breaking the forum rules.
As you seem to be frequenting that section, let me ask you, have you ever reported a post in it?
If your answer is no, ask yourself, how should a moderator intervene if none tells them about a problem?

The forum moderation staff do not bear full responsibility, that was not my intention. To answer your question, I have reported seven posts overall, I am not sure how many of those were pertaining to that specific subsection. However, I do know that in terms of politics and religion, anything goes on Bitcointalk, even the most bigoted of posts will persist being reported multiple times.

I suggest to remove the whole politics and society sub and merge it with off-topic, personally I prefer the last random one than the jungle established in the first one...
