Because the difficulty of bitcoin mining is going to go up soon, I'm not going to start that. So I'm wondering if there are any other ways to earn bitcoins besides mining, other than the ones listed in the sticky thread (there's not many, and I don't like free sites because they are usually too good to be true).

Also lightcoins look interesting so I will definitely do some more research on those.

Honestly I have been pretty successful with day trading on mtgox...but it requires an initial investment.

I'd say you could do any of two things:
1: Buy up a bunch of BTC now and invest in assets that generate dividends, like on bitfunder.com
2: Participate in a bit of arbitrage; I saw 1BTC on btc-e.com go for $39 at one point and 1BTC on mtgox go for well over $40, so for a while you could take advantage of that. Its a lot more risky but seems viable for now at least

You can earn a decent amount playing Minecraft at MinecraftCC...!

On the last payout, the top player received around 0.18 BTC for a week of playing on the server.

Holy cow, thanks for all the replies guys! It's nice to know that there's ways to earn bitcoins without mining. But my favorite option has to be that you can
earn a decent amount playing Minecraft at MinecraftCC...!

Technically though, that WOULD be earning bitcoins with mining.   Grin
