Shorena created a useful tutorial on creating and verifying signatures here.
If you would like to use a non-web service, there is the 'Verify Message' option under 'File' in Bitcoin Core, A 'Verify' option in Electrum on the 'Sign/Verify message' option under 'Tools' and a 'Verify Message' option under 'Tools' in MultiBit.

Better just download a wallet, like the ones mentioned. Using an online tool would mean that you're putting your trust on the party operating it to sign your messages.

you're right alani123 : indeed, to sign a message  the better solution is a desktop wallet .. but, in this case , it seem the OP just search a way to "verify" a signed message ..  Smiley

I would not recommend anyone to use coinig because they are prone to errors and can't verify messages properly. also they can't verify any signed messages with multiple lines
