Well, The Antminer S7 is the newest and most Advanced mining system. If you have enough supply, electricity and space for that, then I can surely say it will be OK for you and will be much profitable as well, Antminer S7 cost very high electricity charges and most of newbie miner got failed because they can't even get back the electricity bills. so I suggest you before buying more Antminer first use this one for few months. and if you see you can afford and handle one easily then buy more.. and keep your eyes on bitcoin price also. first 2 months you may get some extra money because these are halving months.

So as you were advised do not buy more s-7 lites.

With the amount the s9 is you can easily acquire a larger hashing rate; power is not a problem for me.

Okay  many people think  that free power makes an s-7 or s-7 lite  a better deal then a s-9

but here goes

5 s-7 lites cost  1728.22 usd shippped to my House in NJ USA
1 s-9 costs 2222 with a psu  shipped to my house in NJ USA
1 s-9 costs 2048 sans a psu shipped to my house in NJ USA

So  with 5 s-7 lites I need space for them. -------------------------- space available varies
I need 5 ethernet cords and a switch for them. ---------------------about 25 usd for switch and cables
I produce  a lot of heat since I will use  about 3500 watts. -------- cooling cost varies

So the 1728 is 1755 for extra wires and a switch  and I need to dump 3500 watts of power/heat in the summer

Or spend  2048  and   have to dump 1400 watts of power/heat .  So I went s-9

I happen to have very low cost power due to the solar array, but only 10kwatts   so due to space constraints and cooling issues

the s-9 is an easy choice to make.

 I will run 3 s-9's for 4100 watts and 40th
I will shut down and sell 3 and ½ avalons   that used 3300 watts and did 12th

If the cooling is not an issue and you have room the s-7 lite may work.   you need 3 cent power to do it.

Trying to keep the room you're in cool or the chips? I assume the dual fans on the S9 should keep it cool , I don't think there are many fans that increase cooling on these antminers. An AC in the room would help especially if you have free electric.
Know of any cheap ACs?

Home depot carries some really good portable ones. And I mean portable as in the ones that sit on your floor and you put the little panel with the vent attached through the window. You'll be able to control where the air goes, so if you want it on you or your miners you can do that. Wall A/C units suck compared to portable ones.

A/C can get expensive on cooling miners.   Using fan's or Evaporation cooling is cheaper.  But if power truly does not matter I guess it would not matter on cooling.

What is your mining area like?  If you let us know more about it we might can give better advice then just general.

The air down in a basement is probably cool enough to just use box fans. They're cheap and you can pick them up at walmart or basically any box store. They'll use less electricity too I'm pretty sure so you can fit more miners on your circuit before it...goes boom Grin

I currently have a handful of S5's. I'd only consider getting S7 Lites If I wanted to keep around the same hashing power for less energy. If I really wanted more hashing power I'd totally just go with an S9.

Back in my day Bitcoin used to cost $69

Ah okay XD Also just a question put in cool and non humid conditions (I have a dehumidifier as well - EXPENSIVE) how long could a miner last if not overclocked?

Hm...a miner can last easily a year I'd say. Obviously it's not for certain. 2 different people could buy the same electronic from the same store and keep it in the same place and one could last a year and the other 8 months or something. Errors happen.

Hmm okay; thank you. Once I get at least 6 of these setup I should be all good! Cheesy It'll bring my total hash rate to about 16.8 TH/s for $1746 USD (2130 if I include shipping)
And at current conditions that'll have me $838 a month, hopefully halving goes the way I need it to and I'll be good.

I vote for s7 lN and Avalon 6 (refurbished, under 300$) against s9 if one has cheap electricity (a lot) and good space. s7 LN comes with PSU.

I think the s7 LN is my favorite deal. It's just so conveinant having the full package and it is cheap too. Not a big rip off either imo even though the psu are a bit shady lol

I think it is interesting it is really the first all in one since S4+.   I believe that was last bitmain product to come with miner/psu.   I think it will be interesting to watch as it gives a miner for those on 110/120 that don't want to buy a pricey ATX psu for full S7.  The S7 if you have 220/240 with AP3 PSU is great but I realize not everyone has that voltage.

So will be interesting to see how it sells.  I really want to see some more pictures of it.  Don't think I have see a good high res of the miner from all angles yet I keep hoping to see that.
