Yes, there are two different factors we need to consider when we are planning to hold bitcoin for long period of times. The first one must be chances of benefits we are going to enjoy to hold bitcoin for longer duration and the second one must be future of that investments.

For sure Bitcoin is the best long term investment considering its continous upward trends, but I think we should not focus on Bitcoin and forget other digital currencies, some digital currencies are a good long term investment as well, Ethereum and some other coins have been growing fast, I prefer to invest in other digital coins in addition to Bitcoin, from the perspective that says: do not put all your eggs in one pasket

For me I guess long term is around 1 year the reason I normally save bitcoins so that I can have more money if the value goes up and try new investment opportunities. I think bitcoin will grow every year as it finally crossed 800 as in like this moment

It seems bitcoin investors are increasing day to day so for long term investment on bitcoin more than 6+ years because the value of the bitcoin will decrease in every four years because every four years there will be bitcoin halving, may be many people think that there will price fall at the time halving. So to increase it's again it will take another 2 years so my plan to wait for 6 years is the best choice.

for long term holding i think bitcoin is the best digital currency although some altcoins have potential to growth but still risky for me especially with the current price while bitcoin has raising up in these few days but altcoins market more likely to down trend so in my opinion if your aiming good profit holding bitcoin is more secure rather than the particular altcoins

5 years is not enough for me for something to be considered long term. It must be 10 years+ but since bitcoin is

volatile and the price fluctuates from time to time, A part of me is hesitating to keep it for that long that's why I

dont just keep them but I trade a portion of them from time to time and the profit will go to a different investment.

good idea to hold your bitcoin for 3 month and i hope your will get a big profit from bitcoin in next month because bitcoin price increasing too much faster and there is a lot of people get profit in high amount form bitcoin .

For me I will consider long term for bitcoin atleast 1year.
I dont want to invest or hold for more than 5years because
Bitcoin is fluctuating and volatile price. So, I would consider
for 1 year only, this gives me a big profit already.

To see the price value from the last year to this year. Its almost double the value as of now. So you can get value in future, if you hold some big amount bitcoin in the sense. Its fluctuations always lead big pump only in most of the time.

There's no guarantee that holding for just 1 year will give you better returns than 5 years, you just have to be tactical and know when to sell and when to buy. At the moment it's good to buy and hold but sell as soon as you notice a decline of more than 10$

i think long term bitcoin buyers is a range in six month until one years, and we can see that many people which have bitcoin is saving their bitcoin into their wallet from last year although its only small amount including me. but its different if we have mining and we save it in cold wallet and never release our bitcoin until we see the high price.

It is not a good time to buy right now. The rate map looks crazy and can go down anytime. Volatility is high right now so it is better to sell right now coz whatever you get for the btc you sell is definitely high that what you bought for.

Just thinking how many actually in the inital stage of bitcoin when introduced would ave just got it for thew sake of it and forget about it by the time the price rose to some decent level and forget their id or password where they would have stored it. No one in the start would have thought that btc would have come this long way will strong now at 900$+ per btc .

i am also in favour of trading in alt coins, as there are so many alt coins having good potential of increasing its price, therefore trading in alt coins can also give you good profit.

We all know that the bitcoin as a relatively new economic phenomenon is almost impossible to foresee regarding its future behavior in such long term periods (ten or more years). It might be worth millions or also might be displaced by more advanced technologies.

That is why I have no problem with actively spend bitcoins in my ordinary transactions, and I continuously try to move my coins in and out because I don't know what will happen in the future, but I do know the current value of my coins.

i think by long term investment it mean 1 to 2 years of duration. and from short term investment it means the investment for hours and days. some tie i do long term investment and on regular basis i do long term investment i personally like short time investment. i do a little earning from it but do it continuously.

but i think that long term investment is much more good than short term investment because i also get a big profit from long term investment and short term investment can not make a good profit so i recommend that long term investment is good .

if i have much of bitcoin, i will hold it for at least 1 into 2 years from the time of i am buying and i know it will make a big profit. but i am not yet have that much, i will only hold by half of my bitcoin and wait for a good price to sell it and not for 1 years from now on.

Good idea that hold your bitcoin for year or 2 year because bitcoin increasing its price too much faster day to day and there is maximum people are going to buying bitcoin in huge amount and then hold their bitcoin for higher price .
