HI, I'm new to the world of bitcoin mining, and am trying out Bitminter. For some reason though, I'm only accumulating Namecoins, no BTC. Is anyone else familiar with Bitminter and can help me figure out how to mine BTC? Thanks for helping a newbie out.  Cool

I have used bitminter for a few weeks now. I have received roughly 10% the amount of bitcoins as I did namecoins.  From what I am seeing is that namecoins are easier to mine. I only run my GPU with bitminter, I never run my CPU with it(personal preference).

How long have you been using Bitminter?
What GPU are you using?
Namecoins ARE easier to mine than BTC which is normal
Bitminter is a dual mining pool, which means you mine both NMC and BTC at the same time.
Are you using Bitminter's miner or a different one?
How many MH/s are you mining at?

This info will better help me understand your issue.

I've been using Bitminter for about 4 months haven't haven't had the issue your having, even starting out with a crappy GPU in the begining.

So even if you turn off or disable the namecoin you are still mining both or just btc because you have the option to diable it in your account setting i think which is what i did i disabled the nmc and turnedit off thinking that i am only mining btc is that true. i wonder i hope so this is my first day of mining.  ill have to find out.

Unless you are using good GPUs you wont make much in terms of Bitcoins.

I have been mining with bitminter for about three weeks or so. I have barely made .07BTC but that is more due to the fact that I mine off a single Radeon HD 7850.

From what I understand about Bitminter, you mine both BTC and NMC simultaneously.  It has no effect on mining either one, or slowing down your mining because you are mining both.  If you "turn off" NMC, it won't mean that your BTC mining will increase.  It just means you’re not mining NMC.

However, I see NMC and a way to make LTC.  What I do is exchange NCM for LTC using BTC-e.com.  So instead of mining LTC, I just take the NMC I make from Bitminter and exchange.

Hope that makes sense and helps someone.

how could you just mine both without loosing hashrate from the other i dont understand that one doesnt nmc take just as much to mine as a coin like btc.  Is the program set up where you are mining both wether you like it or not or it has to be making more coins if you are only mining btc rather than both nmc and btc thats a hard one to comprehend for me i cant see how you cant make extra btc if nmc is turned of.

does someone know if this is true i would like to know how this works actually.
