I don't see this "lack of toleration".  And I'm assuming that you're just butthurt because some of your post got deleted (or maybe you got banned.).  Your bump just 3 hours after you posted this topic makes me think that you don't know most of the forum rules.

Why retaliation ? Why can't actually take those few seconds in taking people serious at times ? Less do you know his account is banned and because of that the people who he claims to be his brothers using bitcointalk are banned too.Might be truth or whatevers but either way calling him "butthurt" especially when he has no command over English language is certainly not the right away to deal with issues.Everyone's a expert here,GREAT.

Lol.  Why are you so mad for that one word?  Most people here do much worse.  I am taking things seriously.  Although I'm not sure where this expert thing came from.

Name's Lutpin, posting from my main account.

i want to be bringing up issue i have with forum latley: lack of toleration for not-english speachers.
As in "not native speakers"? Since I would be counted into that group aswell, and I don't see a "lack of toleration" for me(/those).
If you're talking about guys with broken english that make so many mistakes even my eyes hurt...welp, maybe they had it coming.

everyday i meet guys say making fun of me not being borned in the america, still many close friends tell to me i write better than 50% of english speachers borned in the us, for lack of education.
Sorry to break the bad news to you, but from what I can read taking that short post you made right here, your friends are hella wrong.
(I have to hold myself back here not taking my red sharpie and going through it point for point. You're welcome.)

everyone can only to everyones best
And doing the best you can is what you always should seek for.

so i just wanting to say this:
btt is global. btc is global. everyone is as good as everyone else. be good to people also, be good to another. even if you not from us.
And you just did.

Everyone's a expert here,GREAT.
It's "an expert". Sorry, with the topic at hand, I couldn't resist. Kiss

It is an English speaking forum. What did you expect? You didnt' even bother to read the rules (and you ask for more toleration?), else you would not have created this thread in the wrong sub-forum (I've moved it). Either learn proper English (like the rest of us, non-native, English speakers) or remain within the local forum and everything will be fine.

everyday i meet guys say making fun of me not being borned in the america, still many close friends tell to me i write better than 50% of english speachers borned in the us, for lack of education.
So your feelings are hurt because random people have made fun of you online? Are you sure that you're mature enough to use the internet?

everyone is as good as everyone else.

It's tough for me as a native English-speaker to read through posts written in egregiously-murdered English.  I have always likened it to listening to talk radio, where the station keeps cutting in and out.  It's very, very hard to understand.  That's it.  Plus people who really don't understand the language tend not to understand the idioms and subtleties and it makes for poor communication.  I have nothing against anyone personally who doesn't write English well, and I know it's a gigantic melting pot of people here on bitcointalk.  So don't get your feelings hurt if I've been the bashing culprit.  But I do question why some people insist on posting in the English section when there are local boards.  Not enough people on those boards?

I don't see the toleration thingy either. Cheesy

Nobody cares where you are from or how good your English is as long as others can understand what you are talking about.

Well people are more likely to see a post with bad English as spam.

Not a big deal, you can do better English in a few months of being here. Just don't bother about what others think or might think or could think about you.

Most boards have enough people. Usually, it is due to signature spam.

Well people are more likely to see a post with bad English as spam.
There is little-to-no reason to post in an language which you can barely use. If one has questions, I'm certain that they can acquire help from their local communities (local boards).

these must respect other nationalitys.
No. Respect has to be earned. If you are too lazy to learn an easy language such as English, then you don't deserve the respect here.

Really, it's impossible to speak in general terms about why English might be considered "easy" or "hard." It depends entirely on your native language. What's easy for one group of learners could be a struggle for another.

Yes, I agree.

Just explaining what I meant - most new won't know if their English is okay to the community or not in the original (real person who doesn't post for money or activity) cases. May be I should have posted "posts with bad English are considered spam", but it didn't feel right lol. A missed learning opportunity just because signature campaigns exist.

Well as long as the content of the posts are understandable as in the OP, and the member is not posting irrelevant stuff with signature, I (who is not a mod) am good with it. Smiley

No it is not impossible. English is quite easy (in most cases)no matter what your native language is. It might take some people more time than others to learn it, but that doesn't make it difficult. Try learning Mandarin (category 5) in comparison and get back to me.

This forum offers a fantastic opportunity to learn and improve your language skills without having to go to some boring classes or courses. The problem with many users is that they either: 1) Spam for various reasons (e.g. signature campaign); 2) Focus on writing instead of reading.

Nobody asked for perfect English. Anyone (assuming healthy human) is able to learn decent English. Don't try to find excuses such as "must respect others" for being lazy yourself.

It isn't impossible, but it isn't as clean cut as you're making it out to be IMO. I expect it's easier if your first language is comprised of mostly Latin characters, however (much like your example) if a person is coming from a language based on Cyrillic characters (Russian, Chinese, Greek etc) it will likely be significantly more difficult to become fluent in a language such as English (at least to the point where you can communicate decently).
Not only this, but things such as idioms and sarcasm can make it harder for non-natives to fully understand what people fluent in the language may be saying.

everybody not 100% perfectly english speachers = lazy for your view.
I don't believe anyone is a perfect English speaker on this forum. Even natives such as myself still make a good amount of mistakes when typing or reading replies.
No one expects you to speak English perfectly, however people do expect you to speak it fluently enough to convey your point. If you do not speak English fluently then people that do may think that your post is spam or off topic as they do not properly understand what you're trying to say. This is not anyone's fault, simply a problem with trying to communicate with a language barrier.

It isn't impossible, but it isn't as easy as you think it is. English actually has a lot of weird nuances and strangeness that can be rather difficult to get a hang of. Compared to other languages such as any dialect of Chinese, english is fairly easy. However, for people who are learning english, if their native language isn't a Romance or Germanic language, they will find that English is hard to learn.

But even so, perfect english on this forum isn't necessary, just good enough that it is understandable. Broken english is not tolerable, especially because nearly everything on this forum involves someone's money and when dealing with money, good communication is key.

issue is within the native speakers (some not everybody): these must respect other nationalitys. i come from country where if your speech poor people say good job, you try speech. on btt often people say haha you try speech now go home. not friendly or serious.
We don't care about other people's nationalities. The country you come from doesn't matter here. What matters is that you can communicate well with other people on this forum. People will tell you to leave if you are posting with broken english because it is not good communication and no one wants to do anything which will risk another person's money. If you continue to post with broken english even after being told that you need to learn to write better, then people will start getting very annoyed.

-snip-
Well, I didn't mean to see that is was quite easy (rather possible). We can easily agree that for most people, it is relatively easy(easier) in comparison to the very difficult languages (e.g. Mandarin). However, this isn't really the place to go in-depth about language-difficulty, so I'll leave it at that.

I don't believe anyone is a perfect English speaker on this forum. Even natives such as myself still make a good amount of mistakes when typing or reading replies.
I concur. As long as the person can express themselves in an understandable way and has decent spelling and punctuation, then it is fine. Otherwise, most people will not be able to understand you so there would be no point in posting.

We don't care about other people's nationalities.
Exactly.

If you continue to post with broken english even after being told that you need to learn to write better, then people will start getting very annoyed.
The forum offers a good opportunity to learn English if you participate in the community for the right reasons. If you compare your own posts at the time of joining and now (assuming you're a non-native && that you've been around for a while), you should see a difference (variation depends on time invested on key-language aspects).

See, it's hard to say that everyone isn't as good as everyone else before defining exactly what you think "good" is and before knowing who exactly you're judging before you do so. Someone who lacks in a field that you may consider to be important could be (and most likely is) good at something that you have no idea about.

Plus, even if you don't think so, what's the problem with being as nice as you can whenever possible? Doesn't cost anything, really, and it can mean a whole lot at the other end. I think that we can say that the Internet itself is a toxic place simply because of anonymity, so it's not just BitcoinTalk, vlad. There's not much to be done about it (there are a couple studies around about it that are worth reading).

A: Pretty sure he means BitcoinTalk.

If started posting Google-translated garbage to a French language forum I would fully expect to be ridiculed. This is not lack of toleration/tolerance. To be able to communicate you need to be understood and to understand others.

issue is within the native speakers (some not everybody): these must respect other nationalitys. i come from country where if your speech poor people say good job, you try speech. on btt often people say haha you try speech now go home. not friendly or serious.

Respect goes both ways. You should respect the community you're trying to enter. I'm not a native English speaker by the way and I certainly don't think that anybody is entitled to some sort of a shortcut here.

Start with the basics, use short sentences, simple present or past tense, and READ a lot. Internet is very forgiving for this kind of stuff. You don't have to worry about pronunciation or real-time response. Take it slow.
