BAD NEWS...

I've decided to close 2 faucets

www.fiveminute.faucetfly.com

&

https://fiveminutefaucet.site

Can't keep up with the bot's getting thru faucetbox any more.

I banned over 300 btc addresses and several hundred Ip's in the last couple of days, but they still keep coming ??

i think the people at faucetbox and faucetfly, have lost interest in our security and have more interest in the 2.5% fee for top-ups.

sites will stay up for a few days to allow anyone who wants to drain the faucets @ 1 satoshi a time.

GOOD NEWS !!!!!

I've been reading up on a very interesting thread started by "Gifted"
you can read it here
 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1365803.0

I have had a few more faucets in the pipeline for later this year, So will be bringing these forward and will Open @ least one faucet in the next few days via Xapo, thanks to Gifted, and his briliantly informative thread..

Bye Bye Faucetfly & Faucetbox

I shall not miss you and your Bots !!!!

No other option really.

I tried to give good value for little effort and would have expected better protection from my payment processor.

I will look at other payment options also to accomodate users who are in the same position as yourself sir...

thanks for your sentiments sir..

I look at it as a negative experience, nothing else...

it also is an opportunity to move forward with lesson's learned

I'm a somewhat newbie to the faucets and would rather go through the tribulations now, than get raped for $1000's later.

It's nice to know that you are planning to change from faucetbox faucet to xapo faucet. Although xapo faucets have a bots too, it is easy to track down bot's from it than faucetbox.
If you already established your faucet, try to utilize Google Analytics to track bots and spiders on your site.

I'm also using sir Gifted's xapo faucet script. But I change the solve media captcha to Google ReCaptcha and I didn't activate the direct to wallet address payment as it will attract more bots to my faucet, IMO.

Good luck to your journey!

Alfaboy, did i ever give you the code to stop bots to put in the faucet script?

 go into the index.php in the root and find this line---->
Code:
if (!isset($response[0]) || trim($response[0]) === 'false'){
    $view['main']['result_html'] = '<div class="row text-center"><div class="col-sm-6 col-md-offset-3 bg-danger"><p>Wrong captcha!</p></div></div>';
    $message                     = "Wrong captcha";
  }

Put this code right under it--->
Code:
//We do not allow proxy here
 if(@fsockopen($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'], 80, $errstr, $errno, 1))
{
  $view['main']['result_html'] = '<div class="row text-center"><div class="col-sm-6 col-md-offset-3 bg-danger"><p>Bots not allowed !! If you are not a bot and not on a proxy, i still cant help you !</p></div></div>';
    $message                     = "Proxy";
    goto error;
  }
  $q = $sql->prepare("select * from users where LOWER(username) = LOWER(?) or ip = ? order by claimed_at desc");
  $q->execute(array($username,$ip));
  $row = $q->fetch();
  //timer check
