Mitsubishi UFJ Bank Plans to Release Virtual Currency in Fall 2017

Mitsubishi UFJ has plans to become the first major bank to issue a virtual currency. The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

We already have a coin that can be used for low cost money transfers - Bitcoin.
I doubt if any private company backed alt can be a rival to Bitcoin, given the negativity associated with Wall Street and their counterparts across the world.

Weird...I'm not sure if that's a good idea for a bank. Essentially they are just using it to transfer money so there will not be an exchange other than the bank. I don't think it will take off at all...

I think we've had enough altcoins to last us till the next century. They should check back by that time, people might be more willing to invest.
