Sometimes I travel to China on business. It is sort-of my own business and I have spent months there at a stretch. Even getting a 2-yr visa and renting an apartment and such. If I were to go back, do you know of any btc-related business opportunities, to source/sell goods or some such? I have cause/opportunity to visit lots of different types of businesses and manufacturers. If something was worth sources, I'm sure I could do it.

Maybe you can invest in that mining mafia and get some returns really fast. Not sure how successful it will be thought after halving, but a friend of mine used to invest money in some of the mining operations and had a good ROI really fast.

You should bring back chinese electronics like tablets ans phones. To import these from source is not really worth it because there is a high likelyhood customs would hit you with import tax. If you bring them in person you can sell them in your home country for profit.

To be clear, all the branded phones like Samsung or Apple aren't sold any cheaper in China. The only phones you will get are the non-branded or chinese company phones which in most cases are not allowed in a lot of other countries due to some IMEI restrictions. A lot of people also have problems with exporting, so that would limit your exports to a large extent as well.

Right now I don't think neighbouring country nationals get the access to involve into the different forms of bitcoin business. So better is to do some sort of other business and gradually move into bitcoin related business.

There are counterfeit goods markets in China and they are huge. Obviously something like that would not be a good idea because it is illegal but I saw a documentary where they only catch like 1% of all packages with counterfeit items or other contraband through customs.

Yes, China has big import duties so it is actually profitable to buy high end phones in the US and then sell them in China. People can bring several in as 'personal items' or 'gifts' and then sell 'em. Doesn't work buying in China, unless it is some cheap local brand, or a knock off.

There are also "no name" brands or Chinese brands as well that look quite nice, such as some articles of clothing, (joggers, jeans, shirts), bags and backpacks, and as someone already mentioned, electronics.
Tons of stuff you can bring back and resell for a profit. If you are looking to resell on this forum, try finding out what people would be interested in buying so you can bring those items back.

It is going to be relevant for international investors to be able to put their holdings into commodities rather than speculate on a tech economy that changes too quickly to predict five years out.

He basically offered the same phones offered by those brands on aliexpress and alibaba and tried to sell them online in US and some other countries, but not only did he not sell many phones, there were already sites in the US which actually sell those.

He imported them via alibaba? Did he have to pay import duty? I know at least in Europe many chinese brand phones are gaining popularity. If private people can get them here wothout import taxes they can undercut the larger online domestic retailers. Its not a business plan but if someone travels to china on other business its definately worth it to bring a few devices in their luggage and resell them at home.

I don't know the details on his transaction, but I do know he had a lot of problems importing , since its a long process. I also don't think you are allowed to bring in so many phones in your personal baggage without being charged for any duty on that. EDIT: So I did ask him, he had problems with the shipment. The selling company never mentioned another surcharge but all of a sudden asked it at the end, He was sort of scammed at it.

Thats a shame but its par for the course when ordering from chinese wholesalers. They have you over a barrel as soon as you send any money.

China is going to cover all the markets of the world. and the time is not too far you will see that chine will be the number one Exporting country of the world. china is preparing a best quality good for Europe and America and a medium quality good for Asian poor countries. but still all the countries are very much happy with their brands.

I think that was the point a few posts above. China has their brand but it still is having difficulty to be legally accepted in all countries. The only recent brand they have breaking international markets are Xiomi, and I think oneplusone . I do agree with the fact that they are now trying to also offer a marketline for good aulity products. PS: We should get back to topic on the thread.
