When did you hear about Bitcoin the first time and got your first bits?

I first got to know about Bitcoins in 2012 after watching a show on National Geographic Channel on TV. I watched it and forgot about it until I researched about it in 2015 and got to use this cryptocurrency. I have also shared the information about bitcoins among my friends and some have started using it.

Majority of us are here only because of friends, I never heard about bitcoin but my friend told me about it and showed me how he was earning from signature campaign.

I heard bitcoin in 2013, when it was actually very very busy discussed, perhaps because the price reached $1,000.
but quite sad if I told you when I first got my bits. I play faucet for a few weeks and just getting around 10-30k sat. indeed perhaps when it was very small and a bit because of the high prices.

Same was the case with me my friend told me about it in 2014 but at that time I was so busy with my job that I couldn't try to know bitcoin but when I got jobless in 2015 then I started to use it

I heard it for the first time from facebook when one of my friend share the moonbit link. It was at July 2014. First I collected satoshi from a bunch of faucet sites and then move to gambling sites till now but I never risking my real money at gambling sites.

First time I heard in news when the reporters were shedding light on this evil creation called bitcoin that allowed drug dealers to accept payments.
I got interested and googled it and since then, there's been no looking back.

It's sad how people ignore the good things about bitcoins, like anything powerful, it depends on the user how he uses it.

That day i was searching thread because i am gonna sell my Account that day, And i saw this thread wherein He is selling an account also and He write on his payment method that he is accepting paypal,BITCOIN,bank transfer. so i got curious there what is Bitcoin,Then i search the net and end up in faucet, There i got my First Bitcoin.

Heard about it since it was starting out. I didn't get involved for a long time, but kept watching how it is going in tech news sites etc..

Tried to get involved in helping, so I did my part in translations for the main bitcoin.org site. I didn't even have a wallet back then, I kept making new one (trying out the wallets back then) and then losing/forgetting my access to them

Until Electrum came by, that was when I made a wallet that I could stick to.
