That is a pretty long time if you are asking me and I think that is pretty good if you hold your bitcoins so long, on the other hand I think I already had sold mine.
Its hard to keep your bitcoins when the selling price is profitable, I already had this once but not sold them back in the days.

i got all my freelance work payment via bitcoin all these 3 years. spent very little. believed in bitcoin and was holding all these times. finally its going uppppp !!! who is holding like me since this long?
I'm also holding my bitcoins but not for long time like you, only hold it for 1-6 months. Holding your bitcoin until 3 years is really sick though, but you can earn profit right now. |

I'm also holding my bitcoins but not for long time like you, only hold it for 1-6 months. Holding your bitcoin until 3 years is really sick though, but you can earn profit right now. same thing i'm also holding it for a long tim, in my case it's more like the OP, it's been the end of 2014 since i'm holding my 10 btc, those were bitcoin made with mining and i'm proud of their value now, i just hope we can return to the last ATH |

you really do hold a strong, but now is not the right time to sell. you have to keep a strong hold until the price is really high, at least $2k or even $5k.
I do not have a job, so it's hard to do that and rather earn profits every day.

If OP bought and hold for 2.5 years means he could sell it now itself because if you see the price rate from that time to now means this is also best to sell for him. |

Holding also two years and made nice profit from it and other people were laughing at me back then saying the golden oppurtunity has past.
But theres still lots of chance that it will reach high amounts even higher then the 620 now. Hoping to hit the 1k in 17!

You are doing a good job just holding on to your bitcoins. I wish I had the patience to do that as well. I have only been holding bitcoin since April and sometimes I already get tempted to sell some.

that is what i call awesome commitment! it will pay off in the very end just hold it for longer even though i know it is tempting to sell when prices are profitable you should just keep on holding them for longer my selling point would be 800 or maybe even 1k but nothing below 800 cause for sure it will reach that amount before dieing out.

your holding for a long time. i also do this but not for 2.5 years yet but maybe a year. its very tempting everytime it rises to sell but i keep telling myself that i will get a bigger payoff by just holding.
So right now my plan is to hold for even much longer atleast im already earning more than the interest rate of the bank!

Holding the bitcoin for such a long time is pretty cool but I also think its bad honestly due to the fact you on a certain point have to sell your bitcoins for some nice profits.
I think that would be better honestly but maybe this is also a smart move, who will say.

yes i am also in favour of long term investment, it is really good to hold bitcoin fro more than 3 year, through this you are minimizing your risk of loosing money, in long term investment we do not care for the little dumps or ups, and it cannot compel for panic selling. |

The most people are now holding their coin and that is because the value of Bitcoin is going to be higher now so it will be smart if they are holding a little longer. And that is important because you have to sell it on the right moment so you can earn profit. |

The thing is that if you hold for the short term, bitcoin can be very stressfull because of it's volatiliy. And i honestly would rather invest in something less risky. But since we can hold bitcoin for a longer period, there is a less risk, because i believe even the buyers at 1200 usd back in 2013 will some day get ROI, on their investment. All they need to do is being patient and hold. |

What you are saying is not right, some people hold it it indeed but they are not spending it due to the fact that they use it a as a investment. Soon or later they will sell without any doubts so I think it would not be bad, the bitcoin price will not crash because of this.. |

There is no wrong for people to hold their bitcoins. It is just like keeping the treasure and once the price is right in the near future, it will be open and sell on high profits. of course, not all of the people with bitcoins are just holding it, there are also a percentage that spends and use it in trading and other related to investment stuff.. |

Bitcoin is a investment like gold, peoples are investing for the high price or when ever they are in need, I think OP is well enough that he is earning from his daily work that he dont want to use his bitcoin and he is just investing it. |

without people holding, the price would probably not even be higher than $200 as the market would be flooded with circulating coins. those who keep holding contribute towards this price. so show a bit more respect. |
