Because gambling is just a place where you can do some relaxation while not busy or something your looking for amusement to yourself. But in terms of profit, I don't think it has. I agree, the only way to be profitable in gambling is to be the casino/house.  If you are the one gambling, you will never be profitable unless the game involves some kind of skill.  The casino/house is definitely the side to be on if you are looking to make a profit with gambling.
