Hello there, I think I am eligible to answer this question being an Indian.
Mining bitcoins for profits is not something that is worth the wait for a long term investment. Physical miners take too much time and the cost you have to pay for electricity sums up the profit you may earn mining few dusts. It is wiser to buy Virtual Mining computers and pay a certain price and wait for the generated results. It is true that online mining is not always safe but it is better than the cost and maintenance of a physical miner.

I completely disagree with this unless you talk about perhaps Hashnest because of its hash trading feature.

Cloud mining is the worst thing you can invest in.

I agree about cloud mining, I have not seen it pay.

Though I do use https://www.nicehash.com and https://www.miningrigrentals.com/ to buy hashing.
While it is not risk free it is shorter term and especially NiceHash is market driven so there can be some opportunity.
As with anything, invest small and learn as much as you can.

With hardware mining, it can pay if you can get very cheap electricity, most of the big mining operations build next to hydroelectric stations.

I agree there is alot of information here about the pitfalls of cloud mining, use it but, also learn enough to make your own decisions.
Keep in mind mining itself has low profitability so if you see an offer that is really good, it is probably a scam.

I remember when I first started in bitcoin I found a piece of sha256 mining hardware that was 2x faster and used 1/2 the electricity of anything else.
I got all excited and was about to spend some money, I came here and of course I learned it was a scam.
I looked for it just now and could'nt find it, which makes me feel better, but I bet it's still out there somewhere.
