Isn't Bitcoin Core supposed to adjust fees in order to make transactions go through faster? Default payments I make take like 6 hours. And blockchain. info lists them as "high priority" "will be confirmed very soon"... what can I do about this?

Are you actually the "system administrator of the SatoshiDice network"?

i also had this problem yesterday, my transaction took about 7 hours to get 6 confirmations my fee was (0.0002 btc). i wonder whether this has anything to do with the price rise we've seen in btc for the past few weeks.

Yup, there is a day that is really slow about confirming all of the transactions. But don't worry, you will always get that amount on your wallet. I remember i experience 24 hrs and they didn't confirm it. But i recieve it after 28 hrs. So don't worry.

The problem is on your end. The network is functioning fine. You need to educate yourself on including proper fees.

Yup, there is a day that is really slow about confirming all of the transactions.
Bullshit. The transactions confirm almost equally on average (variations on block intervals can occur) each day.

I remember i experience 24 hrs and they didn't confirm it. But i recieve it after 28 hrs. So don't worry.
That's what happens when you include inadequate fees.

maybe its the problem of blockchain but we should understand if some transaction takes time to confirm cause theres a lot of request they are doing.

You can adjust the fees manually before broadcasting to try to outbid others trying to transact.
You can find "recommended" fees here, https://bitcoinfees.21.co/
(with any luck, you wont mess up and send all your bitcoins to the miner by mistake)
Or use rbf and keep upping the fee as required.
Neither is a realistic option for the average user.

In the battle for scarce (1mb) block space, your fee was (assuming you did pay a "recommended" fee) superseded by higher "recommended" fees.
If more than a few thousand transactions are paying the same fee as you, a higher "recommended" fee will be put in place.
You are now less prioritised than any new transaction with the higher "recommended" fee.
If there become lots of higher fee transactions in the mempool, (maybe a block is not found for a while) you will be pushed down the priority queue.

Not much else to do, this is cores planned fee market in operation.
Completely unworkable BS about to unravel.

One of my explanations of why your fee was possibly not enough for fast confirmation.

It wouldn't be really slow if you payed quite a good amount of transaction fee to boost up your priority in the blockchain. Or at least I think that's how it works. The slowest I've ever had was 2 hours and the fastest one was nearly an instant.

At the rate things are going, Core is basically going to guarantee the success of altcoins. Segwit won't be ready for months, possibly longer, and LN won't be ready for years. In the meantime, they have no plans to increase the blocksize (other than through segwit, which isn't a true blocksize increase)

It's F'ing ridiculous. It's madness. It's insanity. Let's all just go crazy.

Looks like the central bankers' $75 million investment in BlockstreamCore is paying dividends.

The Bitcoin network is currently overloaded.

How long will it be until its back to normal and transactions are moving at a normal speed again?

Why is blockchain acting as a racist. Those who pay greater transaction fee are dealt with faster, which is against net neutrality.

That is not racist, it is prejudice I think.
This is the Core dynamic fee market.

Both are wrong.

Go back with your FUD to your 'headers-first-mining' leader. What a joke. Roll Eyes

Chaos leads to sudden consensus.
There's no chaos.

How long will it be until its back to normal and transactions are moving at a normal speed again?
Nobody can tell you the answer to that. Nobody can predict how many real transactions are going to be made per day, nor how much spam is going to attempt to manipulate the situation.

Why is blockchain acting as a racist. Those who pay greater transaction fee are dealt with faster, which is against net neutrality.
That's how the system was always working (based on priority). This has nothing to do with "blockchain acting as a racist" (which is a idiotic statement) and net neutrality.

Transactions are getting slower and slower with every day as the number of transactions are getting more and more. Increasing fees won't be the solution because once we go in that way there will be no end to this.

People pay 0.001btc or smth like that at the moment as a default fee and that's already too much for people who is gathering their bitcoins by satoshi's. I am ok with that 0.001btc fee but some people are making too many little transactions and they won't be able to make em.

Wrong. The transaction speed has remained constant. You are talking about confirmation time, learn the difference already or stop posting false information.

Increasing fees won't be the solution because once we go in that way there will be no end to this.
Why would you want to end the rise of TX's processed today?

People pay 0.001btc or smth like that at the moment as a default fee and that's already too much for people who is gathering their bitcoins by satoshi's.
There is no such thing as a default fee. There's only a recommended satoshis/byte fee.

Lauda, you're worse than Baghdad Bob. Constantly denying reality will get you nowhere.

"There's no chaos"

LOL is all I can say to that. Core has created this chaos, they are getting their fee market and quite predictably, the userbase is reacting highly negatively.
