"Last month, banking giant Santander announced that a partnership, and investment, with the firm had allowed it to create a cross-border mobile payments app, which is currently undergoing testing by employees.

CGI, a global payment gateway provider which partnered with Ripple last month, said several more mid-tier banks are also eyeing the technology.

[Cathy Pin, CGI’s director of global payment systems] added that CGI is currently in talks with four banking clients in North America and Europe, and hopes they will be transferring real funds via Ripple by the end of this year."
