what was that.i didnt get you. are you telling that the confirmation gets delayed right now the main reason is Bitcoin transactions are mined or processed by Miners, higher the transaction fees you provide the faster the confirmation you get

Is there a reason for this?
someone maybe creating spam transactions and flooding the network. this could be one of the reasons for this. or there maybe some techincal faults in the blockchain which will be fixed very soon. dont worry, this thing happened many times in the past. Is there a reason for this?
what was that.i didnt get you. are you telling that the confirmation gets delayed right now the main reason is Bitcoin transactions are mined or processed by Miners, higher the transaction fees you provide the faster the confirmation you get but this time even with paying higher fees transactions are not getting confirmed faster. i faced this problem some months before so i know it will fix soon.

So the answer is no? No real reason that's known and being discussed?

There are a lot of transactions paying fee, approximately 20k. Confirmation depends on several factors, block time, block space and transaction fee. A miner can only have at max, 1mb of transactions per block and it cannot exceed that. If there are many transactions, the miner would prioritize those with higher fee/kb first in order to maximize the use of their block space. Currently, I'm seeing quite some blocks being close to the limit while some are not even half filled. This can be because the miner has a stricter policy to not include some transactions not meeting their own criteria. Tldr; The reason is because the network has a load of unconfirmed transactions or you didn't pay a high enough fee.

I am experiencing this too despite using the recommended dynamic fees set my MyCelium. My transaction is still unconfirmed after two hours. Let's just hope that this attack will end soon.

Also experiencing pretty slow confirmation times here. Actually had an Economy fee mycelium transaction process faster than a normal fee one.

No. Network jamming up with recommended fee paying transactions. Spam transactions will not affect your transaction. Unless your sending spam, are you? If you pay recommended fee, you will be prioritised over spam. The problem we have just seen, (and will continue to see), is because blocks are full of non spam fee paying transactions. This is Cores fee market in action. You say "there aren't that many miners mining the new blocks created" - complete BS.

I'm understanding a bit more now. But this can not continue to happen if bitcoin grows and adds new users. Who wants to wait so long to get confirmations. Is there a plan in motion to curb this from happening in the future or is this just one of the drawbacks to bitcoin.

Is there a way to stop a spam transaction from going through? Bitcoin Core does have a policy to reject certain transactions that doesn't meet some criteria (eg. Minimum relay fee, minimum output). If the any of the criteria is not met, the node would refuse to reject it. Miners on their part can also choose to accept certain transactions. It doesn't prevent spam attack but it does increase the cost of large scale attacks. I'm understanding a bit more now. But this can not continue to happen if bitcoin grows and adds new users. Confirmations isn't necessary, one does not wait months at the store to avoid chargebacks anyways. I would say that Segwit can help with this.

Well so far my confirmations in Electrum are usullay in less than 10 minutes one when I receive payments, I haven't send any bitcoins from some time now so don't know the time of sending regarding the confirmation , but I have seen lately that Electrum always tell me is a lot of blocks behind and my internet connection is very fast.

Bitcoin core confirmations are taking forever because: miners are switching to altcoin, huge volume of BTC due to big ICO at the moment.
And if you use a third party service to push a transaction will be worse

you are right, these days transaction confirms are very slow, but sometimes very fast. 3 days ago I get my money in 3 minutes with bitcoin, but yesterday I made transaction, which has 2 confirmations only.
I think that it's blockchain's technical faults and hope it will be fixed very soon.
