I'm just curious, how much are you paying a month in electricity when you mine bitcoin?

Also, what state in America are you located in?

Let's say if I buy 2 of these cards, 7970
How do I calculate how much it will cost me in electricity?

My electric rate from ComEd is $0.04 for kws

The ONLY reliable way.

1. get a power strip adaptor, plug ALL the hardware you use to mine bitcoins  (computer/modem etc), plug this into a unit to measure the consumed power (about $7USD), take the room temperature, run for 24 hours.(take room temp), take note of current difficulty....

Divide it out and plot a graph.


Repeat any number of times.......

Just taking a single reading is bollox(unless you want it really rougth), the computer & mining hardware/software power consumption have a correlation to difficulty & room temp as well as hardware used.
