it may be the wrong sort of business for btc at this time

exchanges and money remittance is where BTC can out compete due to its natural advantage.

Remittance to a target country would clean up inmho

I don't think it is the wrong sort of business.  Honestly most franchises and startups are lucky to hit break even after two to three years.  Most people in the Bitcoin space have highly compressed expectations.  With slow natural growth I find it unlikely bitcoinstore won't be solidly profitable in 2016.

My two cents with bitcoinstore

ordered a video card, then found out the bitcoin address I had to send payment to was only good for 15 mintues.

WTH?

Stupid

I was gonna pay by withdrawing bitcoins from sealswithclubs but since they did this 15 m thing I couldn't.

Did Bitcoinstore meet its target?  Let me guess: No

We did well enough that our pricing tier has not changed,  so we are still able to offer the cheapest prices of just about anywhere.
We get lots of orders each day from around the world,  and are happy to continue supporting our customers.

What do you expect with a volatile currency?  That they leave the price fixed for an entire week or a day?  Then a lot of people would be speculating, opening orders, and only paying for them if the bitcoin price went down afterwards.  Lots of open orders that are never payed, reserved items that have to be classified as out of stock while they are not etc. . Not a very workable situation, imho.

Oh, and get some ChromeBooks.

I can't believe such an important thread and subject matter has gotten such few views and responses.

I launched a CrapCoin (unintentionally) and got nearly 20,000 views and 2,000 responses in less than 2 weeks.

I think something, somewhere is broken.

Actually the distributor we are working with seems very supportive of our efforts and have allowed us to continue in the most preferential pricing tier.  Please feel free to compare our prices with anyone,  and place your order today.
Even with the 1% Coinbase fee,  we are still cheaper than just about anywhere.

Bitcoin is gonna get their ETF license (i have no doubt) which is going to spark a mass media hype-fest like we haven't seen since the Internet days of the 90's.  That's gonna bring millions of new investors and miners (and a >$1,000 bitcoin price) so I would suggest offering hardware which those people will look for most:  Mining gear and preferably ASICS (ie. ASICminer USB sticks which are all over eBay right now in volume), which should be available soon in volume.

That's what I looked for first as a newbie some 3 months ago.  You're a bitcoin store, you're THE Bitcoin store, mining hardware should be featured prominently on your first page.  That would be the number One biggest reason I would go to your store.

Good luck!

Can you please answer my questions regarding shipping? The only shipping options I see are for USPS; do you not offer other shipping methods? Some users have said they received their package via fedex. How did that occur? Is fedex the "standard no fee" shipping option?

Thanks

Coz thread title sux........there's this 'bailout' connotation reminiscent wall street screw-ups. If something is suffering, just put it out of it's misery.

On a happier note, Chromebooks are available...........huh?!, oOkay?............what's with the chaptcha?...............pff!, whatever. I'm going to bitmit.

EDIT: bitmit sux. I'm off to ebay.

I bought some items today/yesterday. 4x drives, 1x hotswap bay, case, psu, raid card. Amazingly, They were able to ship out 2x of the drives and the hot swap bay the same day! The case, psu, and 2x drives were on back order but said they should be able to ship them out by monday. All in all the cost was $136.19 less than the identical items on newegg!

Thanks guys!
