I heard about Bitcoins 3 days ago from an old gaming friend, at first I was sceptical about the whole ide but after spending many hours reading and understanding the concept I was sold. So im about for build my first mining rig and wounder my thoughts are correct. Ive been thinking alot about the hardware choices and after scaveging the web and my friends houses I managed to cluster some hardwear.

My first rig will consist of the following.

MSI 890FXA-GD70 motherboard.
2 x XFX Radeon 5870
2 x HIS radeon hd 5830
Corsair CMPSU-850HX 850W (might get something cheaper, got any advice?)
A-Data Gaming Edition DDR3 PC10666/1333MHz CL9 2x2GB
Some cheap hard drive
CPU not yet chosen (Do you guys recommend any CPU for this build?)

Reason im making this post is that I really would like some advice about the hardwear, Ive been readning and trying to figure out the best build and this is what I got.

PSU won't fit into.
get something more powerful.
nowdays you can get 1600W PSU for about $250, but 1000W/1200W is probably enough 4 you case/setup.

Any CPU that will boot your MoBo is fine, mining rigs don't use the CPU much.

yep, even $35 Sempron 140 is enough, but Athlon II 220 is only $6 more expensive -)

You definitely do not need that much RAM or an awesome CPU unless you plan to game on this thing.

Neither are really needed for Mining.

Yeah, but what are you getting for that $6? If you know what you're doing, you can unlock a second core on the Sempron, so getting the Athlon II is basically pointless.

for $6 you exclude luck for unlolocking from you calculations aswell as [possible]reliability impact.
one-core CPU somewhat limiting for OS itself. very ifrequently, but happen. imagine if you nodes collapse under DDoS, just because 15% chaper CPU.
