Post Bots

I've recently noticed that the newbie section is becoming full of posts made by robots. The bots post a copy of a previous reply in order to get five posts and circumvent the newbie restrictions.

Is this allowed, or should post bot accounts be reported?

I like how the most of sleeping users who registered between 2010 and 2012 suddenly woke up when ripple give away began.

Sounds like some bot herder doesn't know how to read.

Anyone whose Bitcoin Forum account was created before February 19, 2013, 18:45 UTC, is eligible to receive XRP.

I also noticed the bots being used for the XRP; these bots were all created around the same dates, back in 2012, during the same week in Summer.  Someone's got a lot of XRP coming their way...talk about spreading it evenly!

As snapsunny noted. Someone is lazy to read as well, accounts begging for ripple were actually registered before Feb 19.

I have another theory. The purpose of these bots is not to gain XRP's but instead to make Ripple look more popular than it is. This is all part of a larger pump & dump scheme that was formulated prior to Ripples release.

They should've given XRP only to people who not only registered before designated date, but also had some posts and were not dormant. Because they just made some spammers (who registered accounts in bulk) rich by giving out 20-30$ for each account.

Is there anyway to see if anything is being sent to the post bot addresses, like a blockchain.info but for Ripple?

If that's a bot, he recently took control of his account again and attempted to "buy" 1000 BTC in bulk via GayPal

So, not surprised.  Boost the post count (a pointless measure, really,) then attempt a scam.  Classic!  But overplayed.

Looks scammy, maybe the Ripple people have stopped paying to post bots, and now they have change their tactics.

Thanks, I wounder if he's the guy with the Ripple bots? His bot posted in the same threads with the same replies as the Ripple bots have been doing.

No. It really doesn't matter. Dollars are still useful to me even though Bill Gates owns way more of them than I do. Ripples will still pay transaction fees.
