I've been doing a few transfers lately and none of them show up after 6. The last one I did wasn't in until 9 confirmations had shown up. One before I think might have taken 11. I suppose this could be an issue with their server downloading new blocks slower than my computer, but it seems to me they've raised the confirmation threshold. Does anyone know anything about this?

Mine definitely didn't go through after 6, but I figured it was just the time it took for them to process it or something. If that used to happen right away then yes, I guess they've changed it.

In my experience, transfers show up after 6 confirmations.  It is possible that the script checking for deposits only runs at a certain interval, leading to an additional delay.

When testing was performed so as to have the correct measure for the Wiki page, there were inconsistent results between six and seven.  Blocks are being generated quite quickly at the moment, due to a lot of additional capacity having come online since the last difficulty adjustment.  It's entirely possible that the exchange also has imposed a minimum wait for based on a time clock (e.g., 1 hour) as well.

If not, perhaps the exchange is having trouble handling the volume in a timely manner.

Had the same problem here around 12-1 AM (eastern time) when I was transferring from TradeHill to Mt Gox. It went up to 9 confirmations (about 1.5-2 hours after I sent the money). I think it's the volume of sending in bitcoins to be cashed that drove this.

Someone tried to bruteforce the "add funds" address generator

Because of this the thread checking if funds have arrived now needs more time to check all addresses. It'll be better once the extra addrs will expire
