Stenographic wallet, is this possible?

A wallet file is quite obvious for someone looking to find one on a system, be it physical, or even perhaps a purpose built virus, just
look for the text pattern.

Anyone familiar with Steganography?

I would like to be able to back up and store my wallet as a picture of my choice, and location.

Anyone think this would be implemented in the client software?

It sounds cool, but why not simply encrypt the wallet file.

An encrypted file looks like an encrypted file, data encrypted in an image, sound file etc... looks like
an image and sound file.

Crossing a border with a SD card full of images, is easier than an SD with one encrypted like file on it.
I could email a bunch of images to myself, or store them online, and no one would every know.

I'd like to remove the need for relying on my USB, I can memorise my key image and encrypted image.

How would this affect bitcoin?  We had gold confiscation, what about bitcoin confiscation?  Keeping coins in picture format might be a better way.

You are probably right in that case. I would still encrypt it first, then hide in a picture.
And it's important to destroy original "clean" image and to make sure there is no other copies, because they could be easily compared.

EDIT:  although, for crossing borders, it is simpler and even more secure to email wallet.dat to yourself in encrypted form.  or to have an internet wallet with enough (but no more than enough) Bitcoin in it for your trip...

With TrueCrypt, you don't have plausible deniability of "This is not an encrypted file", just "this does not contain more than what I am showing you" using hidden volumes. TrueCrypt files have a header, don't they?
