I'm still waiting to see how far the cat bounces.  There are still buyers..
If it goes to $2... I will buy a little... but look to sell again just before the next crest of $18.
If it fails.... I lose just a little.

Just think how boring it would be if crypto currency was stable, prices stayed around the same, there was only 2 or 3 big players in the game, and everything ran like clockwork.  That's the future.  That's not today.  But today we make... or lose money.  Smiley
Rembember: only stake money you can aford to lose. Huh

This is just a format war in world of tech.....  I have seen it before...

Blu-ray Disc vs. HD DVD

Composite video vs. S-video.

CompactFlash vs. Memory Stick vs. MultiMediaCard (MMC) vs. Secure Digital card (SD) vs. SmartMedia vs. Miniature Card.

DirectX vs. OpenGL vs. Glide API.

Video8 vs. VHS-C and later Hi8 vs. S-VHS-C tape formats

AM stereo  vs. FM stereo

JVC VHS vs. Sony Betamax vs. Philips Video 2000,  analog videotape

8-track and four-track cartridges vs. Compact Cassette

240-line versus 405-line television

78 rpm vs. 96 rpm gramophone

Direct current vs. alternating current:

Round wheels vs. Square?

I will sell some Dao and buy ETH,and now, I have been doing that.

When the DAO is wind down, they will convert to 0.01 Etheruem. So you can get back the original Etheruem, why sell  cheap now?

It dropped to low 13's and is now risen back up to $15.28, I don't think we should expect an ether dump.

It is now further dropping again and is now at 13's.
Was it dead cat bounces that we witnessed earlier in the day?
It does look pretty bad for ether.

I will buy some if it is cheap enouth.

This is the first ETH dead, more will come till the technology is matured. Look at BTC it had to die a hundred times to get so strong and it will die again  Grin  but the intervalls are getting bigger, thus is getting more stable and drama resistant.

well since eth was a arrogant prick all along i say they deserved it. "Ether will overtake bitcoin" this was spammed for months on this forum and now this hack has happened eth shills are silent. In my opinion anything more than $1 per eth is over priced.

and since it is a viable method to mine btc and if the 1/2ing happened today even at the price of  $13.62  eth coin would be cheaper to mine then btc.

It is worth about the 13 it is right now.

You fail to understand that btc does not do what it is designed to do very well.  Move transaction safe and cheap.

We do 300,000 trans actions per day on BTC  and the if the s-9 was the only miner 1 s-9 does 3 transactions a day.  That is a fail.

With  Eth coin we  can do far more transactions in a day. It  mines far more blocks per day  and the key is it is gpu driven.

This makes intel ,AMD and NVidia all have a vested interest in it.

Best case is the DAO fails and the coins are returned.  ETH does what it really is good for mining btc cheaper via conversion then btc can be mined with via asics.

The economics of crypto coin demand a gpu based coin that is better to mine then btc  without understanding this all the haters of eth coin are like a person that hates his or hers own asshole (since hater call it a shit coin).

Well you need a way to shit.

I will say this  any coin that is gpu based and implodes when asics can mine it can replace ETH coin, but we need that a coin to do it.

So if ETH coin is killed off we will get a new gpu based coin for the simple reason  there is a need for one.

Yeah.. look at Monero = 25 cents roughly i heard then Scammy ICO ETH "fuel tokens" $18 ?

WOW you people are fucked in the head.. how the fuck did that happen ?

I have had issues with the coins pushing anon features or their over-zealous shills.
But come on people get realistic and look at the fundamentals and reality.
On the scale of bad, crappier, worse and the shittiest why is the crappiest the highest price ?
How did you all let that happen ?

Easy Answer.. GREED

Let me know how that diseased mentality works out for ya all Wink

I'd mortgage my house to buy Doge coin before i traded 1 fucking ETH shit token !

We need to find the other GPU mineable coin within a year, as Etheruem will go to PoS then. Can we convince Etheruem to PoW for longer?

If the miners support the Ethereum developers this time and showed the benefit of PoW mining, will PoW be extended?

I think the PoW mining can increase the value of the Ethereum. It put a floor price to the coin. So it should be extended.

Without the support of the miners, the Ethereum could already be dead. That showed the benefit of the PoW mining.

If the Ethereum survive and find more application for the Ether, the price will rise, if not, and it becomes PoS, it will be like Nxt.

What i did:

- Sold all DAO and made BTC
- Sold ETH while it was going down, bought it back very cheap. Holding it for the future. ETH will climb back up, but not sure about DAO.

Advice:

- Sell DAO
- Sell ETH
- Hold BTC until halving
- After halving, convert BTC to ETH for the future.

It depends on the support of the community. It has strong support at the moment. The price is still high now.

I will do nothing!
This case just shows how prone to failure this whole system still is and probably will be in the future due to it's massive complexity. And if you have read the chat logs you realize how centrally controlled  and governed it is.
If Ethereum should survive it's value will be a fraction of what it is now.

For a while I have been stopped trading for a while and was lucky that i didn't invested in ETH when the price started crashing, but now the price has become better but still not safe to invest lots of money there. In case ETH survives then i may invest a bit and then increase the volume time by time.
