I found the faucet rarely worked, but if you kept on checking it every week for months it would occasionally work. The last time I tried it was a year ago and it might have ceased working altogether. It's worth trying regularly though.

Why not just beg for btc or use btc faucets then convert. You will probably ly get a lot more alt currency after converting as most altcoin faucets give very little in btc value.

begging is not good at all. and it is not even allowed in this forum. you can beg in your local street for money but there is not way to beg for money here. No NXT, not bitcoin.
better to do some jobs, tasks and earn some NXT.. I see some guy mentioned some faucets here. use faucets or trade NXT with bitcoin.

It all depends on what you want to do with the funds but i heard of a site that you can raise funds for big project though i have forgotten the name of the site.

You don't have to beg for NXT, join a signature campaign on this forum where you will be paid in bitcoins, then convert to NXT.
Learn about crypto-trading to increase the amount of NXT you have.

Uhm... by the way, some signature campaigns in the altcoin marketplace do not pay in bitcoins, they pay with their altcoins, you can easily earn some altcoins in those campaigns. (Maybe not NXT coin)

If you have got some altcoin or money, you don't have to beg . There are exchanges where you can sell and buy instantly . For NXT I would suggest you to go to bter.com which is a famous exchange website .
