There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

It is a good miner which one is best is going to depend on your electricity price.  What is your electricity price?  This is going to decide a lot really.

As far as getting started it is pretty easy with Bitmain miners as the GUI is easy to use.  You in most cases can plug in and enter pool info and it works.  Not always the case but in a lot of cases it is very easy.

There is not really a guide as far as hardware to buy.  What most do is with the electricity price try to run some ROI math with sites such as bitwisdom - https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator .   But if you mention your electricity (make sure taxes and fees are in your KWH price) someone most likely can point to what your options are.

Okay a new guy.

First off your cost of power will determine your profits.

The s7  earns about 3.75 a day  with 10 cent a kwatt power

and in July the reward structure will change and the s-7 will earn about 10 cent s a day with 10 cent a kwatt power.

so before I say buy anything at all what does power cost you?
