The material is copper, and the size is a little smaller than a US quarter (.900"). They're not physical bitcoins, just fun little commemorative / collectible coins. (You may see a DIY Bitcoin Penny™ Physical Bitcoin with custom security hologram in the future. )

We may do this again next year with our 2017 coins, but we will not be making more this year. Ten bags is the limit for 2016.
