We have discussed in many threads, why certain people should not be, or could not be Satoshi Nakamoto...but we have not discussed which person or group would be the ideal Satoshi Nakamoto.

In your opinion, if you could choose, who would you want Satoshi Nakamoto to be? This could be an individual or a group of people. Also quantify why you want this person or group to be the creator of

I'm probably a victim of the law of primacy, and laziness, but Dorian would've done nicely for me. Weird, elderly, liked model trains and milked some journos for lunch. I can't imagine him attempting to patent anything, throwing drama queen bollocks or doing silly things with his stash.

Maybe we should vote him into the post whether he likes it or not.

I want Satoshi Nakamoto to be Steve Jobs, he died in 2011 so bitcoin was invented few years earlier. Why i would see steve jobs as satoshi nakamoto is because he would increase the bitcoin to another level, integrate bitcoin to their apple product and make bitcoin more expensive like their products.

Bill Gates will be my last choice, because I still feel he stole the OS that made him filthy rich and now once he has all that money, he wants to play the charity card with his foundation. If he was the

creator of Bitcoin, we would not have had ANY anonymity and we would be paying his company and not the miners for their hashing power. I would want to see a combination of people with a squeaky

clean background and a whole lot of integrity and trustworthiness... who will not sell out to the highest bidder.  Roll Eyes

Dorian is still my favorite Satoshi Nakamoto, he is the most charismatic and that is how I imagined him to look and act like: Like someone that doesn't know what he is doing and keeps it in secret.

Of course another favorite is Nick Szabo because the guy is very smart and also a low key person.

I think real satoshi nakamoto is already dead making those all 1 million + bitcoin non-tradable so bitcoin community really don't need any satoshi now. I also don't like to see satoshi coming to market so i also don't like to predict who could be satoshi, i don't like anybody to be satoshi.  Grin

The perfect Satoshi is the person who demonstrates evidence of themselves being Satoshi.  But that's not what you're asking, you're askign about a preference.  In no particular order:

1. Dorian.
2. Gavin.
3. Lurker/Backgrounder - This would be someone that is present, but not really active, in the community as an investor or adviser.  This would be someone like Szabo, Zooko, Jed, David Birch (not an exhaustive list).

Common theme up til now I suppose: folks that seem like really genuine good people (not that others don't, others are just harder to read for various reasons).  Flawed people - b/c everyone is flawed - can still qualify here.  For example, Craig (and I'm just picking on him b/c of recent news) could still fit in my category #3 well enough in the future.  However, he doesn't get preferred status at the moment b/c there's too much opacity about his situation.

4. Hearn - B/c that would be hilarious.
5. Nullc and Lukejr - B/c that would also be hilarious.
6. Sipa, Peter Todd, Mark F, Andreas S, Sergio L - These folks strike me as really smart and deep into the knowledge-base.  I'd be really comfortable w/ any of these three not withstanding any social or philosophical things.

Ideally, Satoshi Nakamoto is from the future, where bitcoin is used as the main financial device worldwide.
Ideally, he was just fulfilling his programmed destiny.  Satoshi is the Alpha and Omega.

Good idea, I never think about this before. He could be a time traveler, that's why his technology made a big success now. Shocked

I think I will also opt for a deceased Satoshi, but this has to be confirmed. If we know that he or she is dead, we will at least know that nobody would have access to millions of coins and we will also know that they will not lay claim to the ownership of the technology.

A living Satoshi would be a risk to Bitcoin and also be under threat as a central figure head. ^hmmmm^

Well Satoshi Nakamoto is only Satoshi Nakamoto no one can take his position. If you want to choose me next Satoshi Nakamoto I will choose Craig wright. Like what Gavin Andresen said, he is brilliant and he has the capability to invent bitcoin. By the way Craig wright applies for the blockchain technology patent who knows what will happened if he got blockchain technology patent, we can confirm who is the real Satoshi Nakamoto.

Yes, I have to agree with you on that one... Gavin has been jumping from one extreme to the next and even managed to get fooled by CW. He also set a chain of events in action that led to Satoshi

leaving the scene and moving on to wherever he is now. Then he jumped into Mike Hearn's bed and when that did not work out, he created classic as a way to get back into the drivers seat.. That also

backfired... What will be next? Gavin dumping Bitcoin and also joining Mike at the banks?

It does not matter who Satoshi is/was. Please stop making useless threads such as this one. It is actually much better that we don't know who she is.

2. Gavin.
4. Hearn - B/c that would be hilarious.
Either one of those options would be a nightmare.

Well Satoshi Nakamoto is only Satoshi Nakamoto no one can take his position. If you want to choose me next Satoshi Nakamoto I will choose Craig wright.
All I can say is: If you think that, despite all the evidence that refutes his claims, CW is still Satoshi, there's something wrong with your way of thinking. Stop appealing to authority. Gavin doesn't know what he's talking about. He drank too much kool-aid that day.

Amendment to my list: Theymos.

Theymos is a hard nut to crack.  But, I think he's competent technically and should/could be on most short-lists for who Satoshi might be. Like others, I don't agree w/ him on everything - but that's just kinda life.  He's preferred because he's known and clearly cares about the project. He's not a loose cannon either - he typically acts consistently which I equate w/ some level of stability.
