Eh? I can move 'real' money across borders on a 'blockchain-based-technology' without the need for a bank or ripple.

I won't argue the semantics of "real", but can you move it in 3.5 seconds?

You don't hear much about ripple any more. I guess they've been busy working away in the background. wasn't that Stellar stuff supposed to completely replace it?

Stellar is different project, it doesn't have a correlation with Ripple.

I don't think bitshares is that great, but I don't think it's a ponzi either. Though its fiat pegged markets are laughable.

Sometimes silence merely means devs are really doing stuff and projects move ahead.  This is an interesting environment where there is a lot of communication with developers, more than most should expect.

..and so on.

Agreed for kickbacks or favors to "sponsor" the ICO shitcoin.
In other words they pulled an ETH+IBM.. maybe (theses claims have not been vetted)

What did IBM do ?
They stated they would investigate the tech of ETH..
So apparently this meant we needed 1,000's of Troll-Box comments
hyping Ethereum through the Stratosphere to kingdom come declaring IBM USES ETH !!!111111ONE
SO..
I asked the super mega spammers who were sanctioned by Polo staff..
So is the testing connected to Poloniex or any other exchange ?
Are the coins somehow in a way connected to coins being traded on Polo etc ?

Nope & Nope.

SO i said well then screaming as loud as you can on Polo's Troll-Box NON FUCKING STOP FOR MONTHS
That.. IBM is using Ethereum is rather dishonest don't you think ?
Of course they disagreed and were quick to try and rail on about Microsoft next..
But i ain't done with IBM here guys..  Wink
Get this !

I had noticed after a while the spamming stopped about IBM using ETH.
So i asked the guys on Poloniex why did you all stop pounding the box with that IBM bullshit ?
I was told ?
IBM checked it out and decided to try and do their own tech etc.

LOL

Don't believe me then go to Polonibox Troll-Box logs and read..

Microsoft huh guys ?
All i will say about that is, your AZURE FEE'S are due scammy dumbfucks .. PAY THEM Grin

And i have heard Ripple yammer on about Banks using Ripple for a couple years now.
Every once in a while they keep trying to push this "News" as though it is new.
If it was true the coin would prob be $100 each by now.. but it's not (what does that tell you ?)

I say each time year after year as they keep saying this Bank bullshit..
You all think some reputable Banks out there are going to buy the bags
of some scammy as shit head ICO scam centralized scam coin fraud token ?
Ya fucking right ! ahhahahahah
I think the worlds banks are lining up clamoring to BUY Ripple scam tokens ROFL  Cheesy
And they could not "use" Ripple with out BUYING ICO SCAM COINS !

So their claim is outright silly nonsense and pretty much impossible.
No real bank is going to come to Bitcointalk and by centralized scammy ICO scheme tokens.

This "News" is fraud.

EDIT:
I almost forgot..
Minecache Fraud Shill for ETH said the other day he has his ear to the ground
and that rumor has it Big banks are diving on Ethereum and buying Shitloads !
Apparently Big banks are all about coming to Bitcointalk and buying scammy ICO tokens..
Why though when they are NOT a currency ?  Cheesy

Ripple is the company, they make and sell software. They created the Ripple.Consensus Ledger, Ripple's distributed ledger. XRP is the native currency of the ledger. The X means that it's nationless. You must own XRP to transfer funds on the ledger but the amount you must own is negligible. Less than 1 cent.

Ripple can succeed without XRP appreciating. XRP won't appreciate without Ripple succeeding.

Ripple makes it's money from software and services. It stands to make much more money if XRP appreciates.

I think Ripple is very mendacious with their press releases.  As Spoetnik indicated, for years Ripple would claim partnerships and bank participation when, in reality, all that was done was probably just a hour-long PowerPoint presentation or a few tests.  In this case, Ripple probably offered the banks a free test / prototype demonstration and they're claiming it to be the same as these banks using Ripple to move all their money.  Clearly this is not the case or else Ripple would be worth than Bitcoin and Chris Larsen would selling his company for many billions.

Yeah ever used interac eTransfer with your Bank Account ?
It cost like $1 and was as fast as me checking my email.
And cheaper and more secure for Banks too !
Also i did this selling BTC on localbitcoins numerous times.
Or.. i used straight Bank to account transfer..

EDIT:
Banks would likely build up their own Ethereum or Ripple etc as IBM said they were doing *maybe*
SO why would banks run over here to this very forum section
and then think hey LETS BUY RIPPLE OR ETHEREUM "tokens" ?
Think about it people why would a bank of all people buy ICO tokens from bag holders ?
And they would have to BUY them to start implementing the coin tech on their systems.

They wouldn't !
They would do what ETH + XRP did..
..make their own and then *OWN* every single coin then sell them to YOU scammy ICO lovers LOL

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1151665.0

I made a thread about Ethereum and IBM.   Paul Brody. who was head of the Adept program, was either fired or left to do his own stuff.   There has not been an update about IBM Adept since summer 2015.

As Spoetnik said, Ethereum drones were nonstop spamming about IBM Adept and yet, if you ask them today on the troll boxes, they'll pretend to not know what you are talking about. . .

Same is true about dApps, with the most publicized one being Augur.  DApps was all hot air and all we ever saw come of it was illegal gambling and nobody really used it, because Ethereum has no users.

For this DAO stuff, before the DAO hack, they couldn't get more than 20% of votes and then the hack occurred.  Grin

Santander has pumped a few million into Ripple:
https://ripple.com/ripple_press/ripple-adds-santander-innoventures-fund-as-series-a-investor/

Logic dictates they are going to want to get those millions back. They will push Ripple's platform/products to do this. So reasonable chance that XRP stands to gain from this as well.
Whether this fits anyones view on what crypto should and should not be is another matter, it's just not feasible that a big bank invest multiple millions and will not try to get ROI.
