 Grin newbie here  Grin

There are some rules, for example do not do deal unless you use escrow or with some risks you can deal with trusted member for small amount of money.

When it comes to scammer, always be aware that if that scammer says "I will double your btc in the next 24 hours" never trust that person. And when you buy/sell something, you need to get an escrow just to be safe. When it comes to phishing sites, check the URL if theres something weird, enhance the security of your computer, check the source of information from incoming mail and periodically check your accounts.

it is not easy to avoid scammers because some of them are professional, they get some good reputations after dealing for small amounts then they scam in big deals. so you should stop trusting people easily and before dealing with someone or with site , do your researches about it

The answer to prevent yourself from getting scam is to take safety measures. If you will be trading a big amount of Bitcoin use trusted escrow, And don't hesitate to ask question to other people about the escrow. And to prevent yourself from pishing sites just don't enter your information if you think the site is not trusted .

The main point not to believe people easily, the scammer is getting more and more creative to create a trap and phising sites, do not click the url that have been given if you get it from unreliable source

The best is what you can do is google it and see the reviews of it, the most websites these days have some feedback.
Otherwise you can of course always ask the forum members over here.

Yeah there are three tips from me. First, don't do trading with untrusted person or site. If you really need that, you can use escrow to prevent any scam actions. Next is, don't be tempted with high profit investment and very cheap goods. Basically most of them are scammers. And the last is use antivirus add on for your browser, I have avast online security which can detect phising site.

Most of the scam sites would offer a return of investment that is too good, like one of those that I saw that advertised themselves their ROI is three weeks of time which is nearly impossible even for the biggest cloud mining site.

For me it's better to study the background info of the person or a website that you're thinking that is a scammer or phishing site. Asking your friends for a advice or tips is also a great help to avoid that kinds of bad things. And one of the signs that they are scammers is, if the person pressuring you to make decision fast like giving him bitcoin for a payment or pressuring you to provide your info on a suspicious site avoid them and don't reply to those person because they are scammers

Even if some websites attract you with high profiting methods, try to be away from it. Also if you plan to invest, then start with a small amount. So that if its a scam your loss won't be much.

Very true, advice noted!

A good rule of thumb is to completely discard every single Bitcoin 'opportunity' offered to you. That means no cloud mining, no investment schemes, no securities, no lending, and the list goes on and on.

If there is something that comes up, first forget about it, just to be double sure then see if there's a thread on here. Nothing in Bitcoinland worth bothering with fails to show up. Check how moronic the posts are. If there are no threads then it's even more certain to be a scam.

Park your coins somewhere safe under your control. Don't gamble. Don't listen to anyone.

Right, one should have his own thinking in order to make right decisions in this market.
No one can actually give any good tips, you will get lots of answers, and you need to pick the best of them.
